Hey, everyone! I've been lurking here enjoying the conversation for several months as we've prepared for our first stay at WL this weekend. I'm curious what kind of recent success you guys are having with TP faxed room requests? They sent ours today and we're hoping for something on the 6050 side facing MK. Unfortunately my previous couple of attempts at other resorts didn't really work. I thought perhaps it varied by resort. Any recent experience at WL? Should I feel pretty good about the request?

They always vary based on what is available at the time your request is filled. Not by resort or anything else. Someone else's success will really have no bearing at all on your success.

I am still working out the details of what we want, but wanted to ask is there a specific form or template that I should use for the fax to WL? If so can someone provide a URL for it?

Touring Plans has a service where they write/format the fax, you just fill in the blanks. That's all I've ever used

I was hoping for June as I wouldn't have minded trying to stay there....but we will definitely enjoy VWL....I mean, BRV.

That is what I use, as well.

The south wing isn't expected to be finished until later in the year or maybe even in 2018. The wing will be DVC units rather than regular resort rooms.

All of the rooms have a full balcony, except maybe the rooms at the end of the wing. I would just request a high floor and good view.

So with the south wing going DVC...........the WL will be reduced by 1/2 the occupancy for regular guest? Seems harsh.........doesn't it. We love this resort but we're not DVC so this means......tighter availability and higher cost.

It's been that way for over a year. Haven't found it that hard to get a room

Room Only discount question for BRV(VWL). The villas have been included in the room only discount this Spring/Summer and last Fall. Would any of you "think" they would NOT include WL/BRV in the Fall discount because of all the new villas and cabins?? I know it's just an educated guess, but I would like to switch our reservation this October from BLT to BRV but ONLY if I can get the discount. I'm scared to cancel my BLT and book BRV in the event that they won't be included. I don't know what to do!! Help me out with you advice!

Are the new villas in the South wing of the main building going to be a separate booking catergory than the other villas? I guess what I'm asking is, will you be able to specifically book a Villa in the main building or will it be just whichever they assign to you at check in?

The WL south wing villas are named Copper Creek Villas & Cabins and the old "Villas at the Wilderness Lodge" are now Boulder Ridge Villas at the Wilderness Lodge. They are completely separate contracts and will be treated separately. If BRVs rooms are return to Disney from points, and there is not a demand for BRV, I imagine it could still be included in a RO discount.

I was actually hoping they would open after our Sept trip. I am curious how the CL floor will work once both sides are open. But there are DVC at AKL with CL access isn't there?

Has anyone seen a peek in the south wing windows lately? It seems like they will really have to hustle this spring to get everything up by July or is the new pool not going to open at the same time?

I know if isn't set in stone that is what they will look like, but I thought the interior on the Disney site was a little generic for the new rooms. I wonder if BRV will get a similar makeover?

My thoughts, too. It will be end up being somewhat difficult to get a room here. Just my prediction.

I think that Disney can easily misinterpret simple, uncluttered, clean, etc., for boring and very little theming. I think the new refurb wasn't all that great the last time. But I will hold judgement until I see all the new 'stuff'. It's never a deal breaker, really.

Can't wait to see that grand villa, though. Love the floor plan.

I had the same thought. It seems like they have a lot of work to do to be ready to open up the south wing and all of the cabins by July. We will be checking into the WL in three weeks and I'll be sure to report back about the status of the construction.

We could definitely use an update from someone who is there now.

Okay, so, after an unexpected job change and now a cancelled reservation and a new reservation, I will FINALLY get to have a deluxe resort stay! Going to be staying in a Courtyard View with Bunk Beds on the Military Salute discount thanks to my amazing uncle who is retired Navy and decided to join myself and my Dad on this trip! I was wondering, is there any site that shows which rooms have the Courtyard View and Bunk Beds so we can decide what we'd like to request! Thanks in advance, guys! It's good to be back after a stressful last month and a half!

the blue are your room choices for bunk bed rooms so you need to decide if you want to be near lobby or out the back side

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm not sure how the pools work! Will the new pool be for DVC guests only or all Wilderness Lodge guests?
