Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

If the room isn't ready will a locker at the main pool hold a small suitcase, the size of a standard carry on suitcase?

No, I don't think so. Just leave your bags at Bell Services, no need to take anything much to the pool (a carrier bag for wet clothes would be fine) and anything you don't need for later you can drop back with Bell Services before you go to the parks.

Thank you for posting the picture. I'll let my son know about the locker. :)

The June 2016 Recreation Activities and Movie Schedules for Port Orleans Riverside are now available. See http://www.portorleans.org/news.php?first=300516

As from Sunday 29 May, the main feature swimming pool hours will be 9am-11pm for the rest of the summer. The evening campfires will commence at 6:30pm this month and the Movies Under the Stars will be screened at 8:30pm, with both activities occurring on alternating days at the two resorts - Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday at Riverside, and Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday at French Quarter.

June 23, 24 & 25: "Ye Haa" Bob Jackson will NOT be playing his regular evening sessions at Port Orleans Riverside on these three nights as he is taking a few personal days to visit his high school class reunion in Ohio.

Sorry, I used to have the FAQ post mentioned within the title of the thread, but then TPTB at the DIS decided to rename all of the FAQ threads and took that wording out. Which just added more confusion, but hey, at least you found the thread anyway!

Andre

Thank you! I was able to find everything and sent my request off today.

Dude!!!!!

You scared the Dickens out of me. Just seeing the phrase "Ye Haa Bob Jackson will NOT be playing his regular Weds-Sat evening sessions at Port Orleans Riverside..." gave me an anxiety attack before I could get to the part about the dates. Me and the wife are going in Dec, and, for 1 of the longest seconds of my life, I thought we wouldn't get the opportunity to partake in the fun, that is Ye Haa Bob.

Pheeeeeewwwww....

Can anyone provide an update on the construction process and what buildings are affected? We will be arriving next week, June 8th. Thanks!

Only Magnolia Terrace (building 85) is affected, and only one wing of that building.

I have switched resorts so many times for this weekend, finally ending up at POR Riverside! We leave for Beach Club for one night tomorrow, and are staying in a royal room friday-sunday. Originally I booked CSR then switched it to CBR. I think I made the right choice!

We just returned from our stay 5/20 thru 5/28. Resort is still all around great with no major complaints. CM's were all really good, mouse keeping was good, weather was perfect. We even saw and got to take pics with Snow White and Ferdinand in the lobby on our arrival day!
I always wondered if you could hear the movies if your room bordered that courtyard, yes you can. But we never went to bed before the movie went off so it was no big deal.
We used the east depot exclusively this time and over all it was ok not fighting the south depot crowds but one morning we arrived to the depot at 9:15 to go to AK and the bus finally arrived at 10:01. The bus monitors overall were rubbish. No rhyme or reason. Oh and not Disney's fault but we got a cab to go to Wilderness lodge for breakfast and the cab driver either was genuinely ignorant or was playing a game for a big fare when he said "where is that"? He sat looking at his phone for directions and finally said it would be 25 min. Good thing I've been by it enough times to know better and had to show him where to go. So FYI, if you get in a cab and they act stupid, just get out and try again if you can't find it yourself.

Other than transportation hiccups it was a perfect stay.

The cab scenario...yeah, I've been down that road before. Geez....

We have a 9:00 a.m. reservation at BBB in Disney Springs one morning during our trip. What time should we get to the ferry to make sure we get to the appointment on time? Or is it better to take the bus at that time?

I would take a taxi . I don't think the boats start till 9:00 & if you are doing the bus I would get there by
8:00am . Not sure how often they run to DS at that hour. A taxi or Uber would be easier . It isn't a long drive. Based on our experience at POFQ there are taxis in the lot usually in the AM.If not they can call you one.

Need Advise
we are going to POR in oct 29- nov 5 I was looking at the rooms (again) we have a pool view but I wanted to request it in the Mansions (Oak or Paiterre) because it is closer to food court and pool and looks bigger than the rooms in AB, but reading the posts about the buses and how they are pick up (west north east south) I don't know now ? We our traveling with our granddaughter who is 4 and if we go with the mansion I think we will be also most the last stop and it maybe full Should I reuest a AB room closer to the bus area

Ok HELP !!
