Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

Well, I didn't ask about it, but we didn't have one, and I happened to look into an empty room through the window one morning, and they didn't have them either, so I assumed they had decided to remove them.
Maybe they were getting stolen and were getting expensive to replace?

Does anyone happen to know what colors the currently offered rapid fill mugs are at riverside. We arrive next week and we like having a different color for each of us and was just wondering what our options were. Thanks.

We just returned today from 7 nights at POR and 2 nights at YC. At POR the mug colors available were Green, Red, Blue...we saw some Purple, but never when we were in the Mill.

I was going to write that we saw blue, red and green, and I can testify to the purple, as it's the one I bought (to match my magic band, of course!), and I bought it in Riverside Mill.

That was my guess. When I was there, I actually wondered how many get stolen.

I really wish they'd make more colors. Back in the day, I got a pink one, but that was 2 mug designs ago. I have a blue and two purple, and I don't like green or yellow! After I get a red one, I'll have to start repeating! First world problems, I know. lol

Yeah, they do get some stolen, and also some of the bed scarves go walkies. When the Royal Rooms first opened they even had some of the themed bedspreads go. And one of the small padded bench seats (the Beauty and the Beast 'enchanted dog' themed ones) was found in a parking lot where someone obviously found they didn't have room in the car to steal it.

They have a very limited stock of spares to replace these items (and also some will presumably have to go away for washing) but as far as I know they as still standard accessories for the rooms.

Oh, and alarm clocks are definitely being switched over to being "request" items at the moment. They have recently noticed that a lot of were unplugging the powered clocks anyway to plug in USB chargers for their phones. Odd really, as there's a spare socket there behind the bedside table anyway (which I plug a 4-way power strip into, and I leave the clock connected). But they are monitoring how many people are requesting them (I know we will being doing so).

In regards to the pillows, when we stayed at CBR last fall, the room originally had 2 long cylindrical pillows on the King bed. About half way through the trip, we came back from the parks and they were gone. I was afraid that we would get accused of stealing them, so I called housekeeping and the lady I spoke with said that sometimes the housekeepers just take the pillows and she would send someone up with more. I thought that was kind of weird because they are big pillows and it was very noticeable when they were just all of a sudden just gone with no explanation.

I have a question, and figure someone here would know. On Sunday, our last full day at POR, we got a message on our room phone, saying that as we had a credit card on file, if we wanted to use it for our room charges we didn't need to go to the front desk to check-out. Our card would be charged, and I would get a copy of my final invoice by email. So on Monday, we just packed up and got on the DME. It is now Wednesday, and I still haven't received that invoice (I checked my spam), but I see the charge has been put to my card. Where could I write to request a copy of our final invoice?

I have a question about the boat to Disney Springs. Where does it dock at Disney Springs? Is there more than one stop? I remember a stop in Marketplace by the Rainforest Cafe, but what about over by The House of Blues? Is there a stop there too?

Thank you. I'm hoping for red, green and purple then!! (Of course to match our magic bands)

I would just give them a call and ask for your folio to be resent. Usually it's just that the email address on file wasn't 100% correct.

The only stopping point for the Port Orleans ferries is the dock near to the Rainforest Cafe (the new dock is slightly further round than the old one, on a jetty between Saratoga Springs and Rainforest Cafe).

From there you can switch to a different ferryboat for the internal water taxi service over to the other side of Disney Springs (if you want the Cirque du Soleil area). There used to be a third stop for the internal water taxi, next to the Characters in Flight balloon, but that was closed during the Disney Springs construction work - I don't know if it has reopened yet, can anyone confirm?

There were no clocks in February. It's good to know you can request one. I actually can't sleep with the light from the clock on, so I have to cover it or unplug it anyway. I know a lot of people would use it though.

Aw shucks, I was hoping to get out of that long-distance phone call. Next time I'll drop by the front desk, which I would've had time to do anyway. It is odd though that the e-mail on file was correct when they e-mailed my room number after check-in, but mistakes do happen. Thanks Andre, you're always full of valuable information!

I still have not yet received one from Sunday check out either. We then stayed at YC for a few days and they told me the systems were down and I should have within 24 hrs and have not received that yet either.

Hello POR people. It's been a while since I've consulted this thread (thanks Andre) as our last travel was 2012. Previously in the mansion section and this time in AB preferred room with our youngest no longer-crib age.

Just wondering if there have been any marked changes to the resort over the last few years. One change for us is renting a car and getting rid of the occasional headache with transportation. In terms of layout, amenities, facilities is there anything that we will not have seen before?

Thank you! I hope the stop by the balloon is open for July, but at lest it's a shorter walk now with the bridge open.

Do they usually book lots of Pop Warner people into Riverside? It's making me nervous that there's apparently no availability in standard or garden rooms for a stay including December 4.

Lots? No. Some? Maybe. We've stayed at POR when POR was the only Moderate option 3 years in a row and never even noticed them. Except for the odd time we'd see some of them gathering to head to a game.
