Yes, even when the line looks super long, it's still not usually more than a 20-30 minute wait at most. In 2022, we watched the fireworks from somewhere between China & Germany. When the show was over, we took our time walking in the crowd to get to the Skyliner. I know we stopped for a bathroom break somewhere along the route. When we got to the Skyliner, the end of the line was way down towards BC. We weren't in any hurry, so we just sat on a bench right by the Skyliner and waited for the end of the line to get up to the switchback area. There really wasn't a huge rush of people coming to Skyliner at that point...mostly just the stragglers that didn't race walk to get there (like us). It took about 15 minutes for the end of the line to get to the point where we were willing to get up and stand in it. I think we walked through one aisle of the switchbacks to reach the end of the line. It was another 10 minutes or so until we were in flight. Looking back at the time stamp on pictures, it appears as though we were in flight about 45 minutes after the show ended....and that was with us having to walk from the far side of WS in a crushing mass of people, stopping at a bathroom, and then sitting on a bench. They really are efficient at loading and keeping the lines moving at the end of the night.
We love staying at AoA/Pop Century because the Skyliner is such a quick and efficient form of transportation. I thought I would hate it the first time we used it, but I ended up loving it. Now I don't want to stay at a resort that's not on the Skyliner route.
