Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

How busy do the lines get for the skyliner at the end of park close? Is it best to get an uber from B&y club for Epcot after fireworks? This is the only thing I’m concerned with.
Even if the line looks super long, it also moves super fast. We were there and the line was way down the path towards BC and I sat on the wall, because I had an injured knee and was really looking forward to at least a 20 minute break, while the rest of the family waited in line. But within 10 minutes my family was already close to me. We really do not rush back to our resort and would rather take our time in the park and let the crowd wither down.

This strategy has never failed us.

Watch the fireworks from the bridge between UK and France.

As SOON as the last fireworks have exploded, begin IMMEDIATELY walking off the bridge, through the International Gateway and STRAIGHT to the Skyliner Station.

We have never waited more than 5 minutes to board a Gondola. :)
Thank you, I will have to keep that in mind when I go!

That’s great thanks, I hate rushing back too so it’s good to know it goes fairly quick. I had heard about those lines going back that far so that’s what made be anxious about it.

Yes, even when the line looks super long, it's still not usually more than a 20-30 minute wait at most. In 2022, we watched the fireworks from somewhere between China & Germany. When the show was over, we took our time walking in the crowd to get to the Skyliner. I know we stopped for a bathroom break somewhere along the route. When we got to the Skyliner, the end of the line was way down towards BC. We weren't in any hurry, so we just sat on a bench right by the Skyliner and waited for the end of the line to get up to the switchback area. There really wasn't a huge rush of people coming to Skyliner at that point...mostly just the stragglers that didn't race walk to get there (like us). It took about 15 minutes for the end of the line to get to the point where we were willing to get up and stand in it. I think we walked through one aisle of the switchbacks to reach the end of the line. It was another 10 minutes or so until we were in flight. Looking back at the time stamp on pictures, it appears as though we were in flight about 45 minutes after the show ended....and that was with us having to walk from the far side of WS in a crushing mass of people, stopping at a bathroom, and then sitting on a bench. They really are efficient at loading and keeping the lines moving at the end of the night.

We love staying at AoA/Pop Century because the Skyliner is such a quick and efficient form of transportation. I thought I would hate it the first time we used it, but I ended up loving it. Now I don't want to stay at a resort that's not on the Skyliner route. :)

Yes for us too, the skyliner has been a game changer and we have stayed at POP more, in the last few years, then other resorts. The deluxe lovers are always talking about the special transportation to 2 parks and at POP you get that at $200-$300 less PER night!

I'd rather wait in the line for the Skyliner than for the buses. Just don't be the people that freak out when another family/couple/solo gets directed into your gondola.

Especially those of us that travel solo. The number of times I get put in with a family and they have to move around to accommodate 1 more person. If it's busy and there's 4 or less in your group, you'll likely have another small party follow you into the gondola.

The door from the outside is metal such that a magnet will stick, right? I'm just looking to put a few hooks on the inside to hang a few items out of the way. I just can't recall. I'm still 70 days out, but planning is always being done! Thank you.

Yes the door is metal. I used a hook with a magnet on the back to hang my swim coverup as recently as earlier this month.

Returned from PoP last Friday and I have to say we LOVED it! Normally we stay at POFQ and I think that will always be my favorite resort, but our experience at PoP was wonderful. Especially the Skyliner. While there was a line in the early morning, it moved fast and we did not wait very long. And other then that, we never really had to wait.

The only thing we were not too happy with was the mobile order pickup area. It was very busy and other guests were very rude. I felt so bad for the Cast Members having to work it. It was like people couldn't read the app and expected their food to be ready right that second that they arrived. I also had issues where my app wasn't updating so I finally had to ask the CMs for help.

We are already planning a return trip for early 2028 (we have other trips planned for 2025 and 2026 already) and want to stay at PoP. However, trying to plan it around Festival of the Arts, the Skyliner's yearly downtime, and the cheer events is HARD.

Arrived at POP late last night. So wonderful to be back!!! Thank you everyone, especially “scrappinginontario” for all the great information on this thread. I can confirm that I had put a room request when I made my reservation but also used the fax number shown on the first pages of this thread and got the EXACT request we asked for. Felt very magical!!!

Found out when we checked in last night that once the food court reopens they’re going to be closing half of the everything pop store to do some kind of refurbishment there

Thank you so much. It has been since 2019 since I have been to POP so not sure if I will be able to report what is different unless
It’s a drastic change but if I can add anything valuable to the boards I will

IF you have an opportunity to snap a few pics of the food court when it reopens, that would be greatly appreciated but, zero pressure!

Other than that, the thread is current as I updated it during our visit last month.
