Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

We have stayed at Pop 30+ times, in a variety of buildings, floors and room locations. I honestly feel noise has to do most with the type of people in adjoining rooms rather than location.

We just spent 10 nights at Pop and our room had a connecting door. The neighbours we had at first were loud. The kids were fine - the mom as a ‘yeller’ and yelled constantly, late into the night. After the second night I folded a towel from the pool and placed it on the floor between the doors and didn’t hear anything else. I was sad when it hit me it was quiet because they had left and I now had peace but those poor kids were still being yelled at wherever they were now. :(

For the remainder of the time we didn’t hear anything else from the rooms around us or above us. We also rarely heard people walking by and we were the second room from the elevator in our hallway.

I think it really depends on how noise sensitive you are. We’re both good sleepers which likely makes a difference.
I totally agree. I've stayed at Pop 10 times in all but the 80s section, all floors. It depends on the neighbors. I do believe that the hard floors make the noise from connecting rooms worse though, so I feel like non-connecting rooms would help somewhat. We used a folded towel from the pool also, Lol! I wish it had worked better. My one son and husband are light sleepers so they had to listen to music with earbuds to drown out the noise.

Still, overall we've had good experiences with our Pop neighbors.

I think I've been on all 4 floors at different times and I tend to prefer the 4th floor because those rooms seem quieter to me -- fewer people walking by talking loudly and less likely to have stomping feet above your room.
Yes. I find in general, 4th floor is quieter, especially at Pop.

When you’re on the first floor, especially if you’re in a preferred room or a central location at Pop, you’re going to hear chatting families walking by your room super early in the morning and late into the evening as people make their way to and from buses, cars and Skyliner.

Anyone there now happen to see pool hours? I know sometime in September it changes from 11 pm closing to 10 pm. We check in on the 15th and fingers crossed for late night swims!

Going to Pop in a few weeks and plan on rope dropping HS and Epcot. How soon should we line up at the Pop skyliner hub to be near the front of the skyliner line? Thanks.

If you’re trying to be first in line at Rise or Ratatouille, 6:30-6:45.

If you’re just trying to get in right at early entry opening, 7 is fine.

I was normally within the first 5 or so groups and would get there sometime around 645.

Pop and AoA are at disadvantage being so downstream of the system. Really noticeable at Epcot when I was barely on the France bridge despite being one of the first out of Hourglass Lake Station.

We just got back from our stay at Pop Century Sept 2 - 7 and had such a magical time! It was just DH and me, in room 2461 (building 2, 50's section, lake view). We loved the stroll beside hourglass lake to get to the Skyliner. The food court renovations did cause some inconvenience. Just to purchase a fountain drink we had to go through mobile order. I would highly recommend walking over to AoA if you want to eat a meal at the resort. We had the pasta with meatballs there one night and it was great.

How busy do the lines get for the skyliner at the end of park close? Is it best to get an uber from B&y club for Epcot after fireworks? This is the only thing I’m concerned with.

This strategy has never failed us.

Watch the fireworks from the bridge between UK and France.

As SOON as the last fireworks have exploded, begin IMMEDIATELY walking off the bridge, through the International Gateway and STRAIGHT to the Skyliner Station.

We have never waited more than 5 minutes to board a Gondola. :)

I second this! This is exactly what we did this summer. We even got to the bridge area early enough to sit on the walls of the planters(?) down on the terrace area to watch the show. My husband has a bad hip and can't walk super fast but we were still able to get to the Skyliner very quickly and had about a 5 minute wait -- the line wasn't even to the end of the switchbacks when we got in line. By the time we were in flight, the line was way down the boardwalk. It builds very quickly, but also moves fairly fast. By watching the fireworks from that side of World Showcase, even if you walk at a normal pace, you're going to be ahead of the majority of the crowds heading to the Skyliner.

We did this too. The Skyliner moves people quickly. Maybe waited 5 minutes.
