Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I was at Pop in late January, and while the 15s were there, they weren't a problem. I didn't experience any long lines at the food court or with the buses or any other issues related to them.

Agree. I was at Music this summer with a group and other than occasionally seeing packs walking on the sidewalks and seeing the logo in the windows (I think it was only my room and two others in the building where I was that were not with them) I would never have known they were around. I think I remember reading or hearing somewhere that at least for the initial getting to a park in the morning and leaving in the evening they have their own bus now that picks up from other than the primary park lines.

Crowds don’t seem light to me at Pop. The rest of Disney World does but not Pop. This is my first time staying there so maybe this is the way crowds usually are on busses there. I’ve stayed at 4 other resorts and all types (value, Deluxe and mod). These busses are more full and have longer lines than I’ve seen for any of them. Several times when going back to Pop ive jumped on the AoA bus cause it was a much shorter wait.
We've stayed at Pop many times and in the grand scheme of things the bus waits are not bad. as long as you’re going to the 4 parks. Disney Springs and Typhoon Lagoon waits we’re linger for us.

Yes, the buses are full tobstanding room only many times but that is very normal for Pop. What we haven’t experienced this week is the lines for buses filling the queues and snaking down past other bus lines.

This pic was taken in early December last year and was what we experienced each morning if we went to a park close to opening. The bus in the first stop had just left. This was the line for the next bus stop. All 4 parks were the same. That trip we waited for 5 Epcot buses to come and fill to capacity before we made it into the 6th bus. We waited approx 25 mins.

Based on this experience I have no complaints about the bus waits this week.

We were there that week, too. I'd never ever seen the bus lines as bad as they were that week and we've been staying at Pop since it opened.

I wonder if they have already cut down on the buses in anticipation of the gondolas opening in a couple weeks?

I hope not. Not everyone is thrilled about the death buckets. They need to have options.

Bad news-they also sometimes stay at the Mods! :)

I wouldn't worry too much about it-January and February are NOTHING like July when it comes to the 15s.

January/February numbers are about half of July numbers so you will only be dealing with the 7.5s!lol:)
We have had very bad experiences with them in the summer a couple of years ago at the values. They were chanting and screaming in the middle of the night on the hotel grounds. I don't know how bad it can get in January/February. I have never seen them at the moderates in January and February personally.

The buses to the parks, especially at park opening and closing have been plentiful this week. Most times one is there when we arrive or comes within 10 mins.

Death buckets? Ski lifts have exisited for a long time and there have been rarely incidents and those are on mountains...

Ski lifts are not unairconditioned boxes in Florida, the lightning capital of the world.

Look, for people who want them, that is awesome. But there is a considerable number of people I know both in person and online who want nothing to do with them. (Not everyone skis either - hate it personally.)

Can you ship a box from Pop Century to your home and what is the process???? I have looked on the tread and it is so long could not find a good answer Thanks....

I actually read that there will be MORE buses. The new character wrapped updated buses arent taking the place of existing buses 1 for 1, but instead some are being added in addition to.
That surprises me! I do agree they need more transportation in general.... heaven knows we've waited way too long for buses when leaving the parks and I always say "they need more buses!" But with attendance down, the increasing use of Uber and Lyft and the addition of the skyliner.... I would never expect them to add buses??

I think it is all in anticipation of 2021/2022 and the 50th. With all the major changes and new rides/experiences I think they are expecting trying to get ahead of the anticipated crowds. Also like PPs have said there might be a large portion of people who will never step foot on the skyliner for a number of various reasons. I could be wrong, but I am hoping I am not :)

Huh?? :confused3 Sorry.... just confused by your reasoning. That is 2 years away?!

We were on resort August, 2019 and struck up conversations with the bus drivers. At that time,Disney has 1,700 bus drivers and were looking to hire upwards of 600 more. So Disney is aware and are working on the problem.

My daughter helped back my scooter on the buses, more bus drivers told her, if she was interested in a job, she should apply. We chuckled!!!

Hi. Where do I enter a preference for the bed type in our room? In my check in page I have a drop down for requests but it is only for the section (60s, 70s, etc) or near elevator or high floor. I want to be able to request 2 beds. Is that possible?
thanks.

You can ship a package from the front desk. When we checked in earlier this week there was a lady in front of me with a large Disney shopping bag full of assorted items including 2 banshees in boxes. They didn’t have room in their luggage so needed to ship the items home. When she was nearing the front of the line, one of the CMs with a clipboard reached her. He said it would be no problem. They would help pack it into a box and arrange for shipping. I have no idea of pricing but it did not appear to be a problem at all.

That isn’t something you need to request as all but a few rooms in each building have 2 beds. 1 regular queen bed and 1 pulldown queen bed. Both have identical mattresses and are equally as comfortable.

You are more likely to die in a bus accident than anything with the sky liner.
