We look at waiting at Disney as just part of the day. Sometimes we need to wait for buses but not often. I find if I actually look at my watch and time the wait it's less than I feel like it is.
Park closing is busy, that's a given. We prefer to either leave a bit before it closes, enjoy some shopping time after park closure to let the bus lines go down or, brave the crowds and wait it out.
I will say when we're leaving MK and heading to Pop, we will let people pass by and wait for another bus to arrive if it means we need to stand. Pop is about a 15 min ride from MK so our preference is to wait a bit and get a seat.
Same for us. Bus lines are part of our vacation. We do not mind them. At park closing, we generally wait it out in The park for quite a while - people-watching on a bench, soaking in the atmosphere. The best is watching Illuminations from Morocco, then hanging out until the area clears and SLOWWWWWWLY meandering to the entrance. At MK one time, we sat on a bench near Adventureland and watched it clear out, then moved to Main Street and did the same thing, then moved to a bench outside the gates and sat for about an hour. My kids just leaned into me and rested. It was SO peaceful. Once the line for the bus was short, we just got in line, got on the bus. No muss, no fuss.
We, also, will wait for a bus to sit on. We stand off to the side if we are up to get on the bus and there are no seats. I know another will be along shortly and we will have our pick.
