I'd say thats probably about good if you don't have bags and you are correct MK will require extra time. Not sure the reason for not taking the bus for MK I find it is usually easier to just take the bus. I prefer driving to the other parks.
Traveling with a 1 year old and I know we'll be out past his bedtime. If he's going to have a meltdown at night, I'd rather have him do it strapped in a car seat then on a bus while we also manage the stroller, the stuff and a 6 year old. If he doesn't melt down at least he can pass out in his car seat at the end of the night. I've toyed with the idea for MK but I'm still leaning towards driving. We do have 3 MK days so maybe we'll try the bus once.

Ah much better map! The ones in red on my map have both standard and preferred rooms. Take a look at touring plan's room finder (I have a subscription- not sure if you need one to look at it, though). Then you can put in your room types and distance preferences and they'll spit out a map like mine with buildings and rooms highlighted that match!
Yep, I have TP. Love that room finder tool!

I can totally understand! Just a heads up that I've found maneuvering onto a bus with my folded stroller easier than trying to maneuver it onto the parking lot trams. I find their rows so narrow!

My DD (then 6) had a night terror on the bus back to Pop from the MK a couple of years ago. While it was awful (I always hate seeing her go through these even though she's completely oblivious to them in the morning) people on the bus were nothing but supportive.

Only you know what is best for your family though. Just sharing my experiences.

I agree about the trams...when we get there for rope drop we are close enough in all the parks (except obvi MK) I don't bother taking a tram. I think the bus is better to MK unless you are staying open to close. In that case I'd seriously debate driving. The buses at park close can be a PITA.

With the new security experience and the trams at MK, I would definitely try the bus the first time. IF it doesn't work out then you can drive for the other days but it should be much easier to ride the bus than it would be to drive, take a tram, go through long security lines, take a monorail/ferry and eventually end up at a park. Just my opinion....

Another option could be just grab an uber so you go directly there and not worry about the bus.

If you go with Uber/Taxi,remember to have them take you to Contemporary Resort and then walk from there-that route is usually faster than TTC/Ferry or Monorail.

We made that mistake our first trip 20 years ago, NEVER again! MK is NOT the park to taxi/uber to. Bus takes you right to the front, can't get any closer.

Has anyone had issues booking pop century? Was booking my halloween trip and they keep saying they are already at max from november 3rd on.

Nope. Just booked Pop for September 26 to October 3 and November 25 to December 5 with no issues.

Do the shower/tubs have a retractable shower curtain? This will be my 3rd visit on site, the other two were at the Swan/Dolphin, and they had them them. They were surprisingly convenient.

Oh, interesting! So if I get lucky, I could end up on the AoA-facing side of one of the 60's buildings.... I'd be okay with that! Either way, I'll call maybe the week before I fly there and put in some building requests. Thanks for all the info!

Our last three visits (dates ranging from mid Sept to late Oct) we've stayed at Pop in a standard room and been in the 60's buildings at our request. Twice facing AoA/the water, and once facing the 70's buildings. All I've done is use the online check-in option when it becomes available and selected 60's as both my requests.

I don't know how the renovations will affect that this year unfortunately, but they have always been very accommodating with my requests. If I cant do 60's this year (late Nov) I would opt for 50's or 70's facing the water. The other side of 70's makes me feel claustrophobic for some reason (I think cause no pool or anything).

Pop will have some rooms that are not in service due to refurbishment, so it does seem harder to book a room there this year. Could be a large group has booked during that time.

However, keep checking. I tried several days in a row and noticed that availability kept changing. People make and cancel reservations all the time. Something will probably come up.

There are pics from a sample room on pages 206 and 208 of this thread.

The wait for the pics of finished rooms is turning out to be an April-The-Giraffe type wait.

And since they're not putting guests into new room until June, I wouldn't expect to see any pics prior to that.

Hmm.... I arrive the morning of June 1st. You think I should bother trying to request a renovated room? I mean I already have a pretty good idea what buildings and facings I'm going to request, but...

We have stayed at POP several times and love it with one exception. The dreaded bus lines :( Did I read not too long ago that improvements have been made with regards to que lines and wait time updates? DD absolutely despises this part so we are considering a moderate. However, the price difference makes it very hard.
