Yikes, that sounds awful! I've read other posts about problems with the buses over the past couple of months, I hope it's not a new trend. I'm sorry you had so many bus issues!

Just got my room texted to me and haven't even left my home airport. I have preferred pool view and requested first floor. I got room 4312 so I am on third floor but if I am reading the map correctly we are on the end of the building closest to classics hall. We will take that! No neighbor on one side!

Stayed here in 2007 and 2012, we are planning to stay here again November 2016. We just got back from AoA on Saturday and we stayed at the finding memo suite, we stayed at the LM rooms in 2014 and the walk was so exhausting for us especially after a long park day. I don't really remember how far the standard rooms are from transportation at pop, are they as far as the LM?

There are plenty of standard rooms at Pop close to transportation. :thumbsup2 I don't think there are any standard rooms as far away as a LM room would be.

Sick here too! Hoping we are up and running by Saturday!

But first a question! Is there a place in the hotel to watch a football game? A bar? Or something? I know the room is an option but my DH was thinking maybe after DD went to bed he would grab a drink and watch some of the game.

If not I'm thinking Maybe Disney Springs.
Boardwalk espn club maybe?

We personally had long waits for the buses. We waited at the resort and at the parks. I first part of the trip, we always had to stand and were packed into the buses. Towards the end of the trip we finally started waiting for another bus and let others around us because we just couldn't face another standing bus ride. On our first day we waited 45 minutes for a bus back to Pop from the MK.
I'm sorry to hear about your long bus waits. I have always thought POP had one of the better busing services. This will be our first stay at POP, but we have stayed twice at POR and once at CB and I was never really satisfied with the busing. Big resorts, a lot of bus tips and ALWAYS standing room only. I was hoping POP would be better. Otherwise, I hope you had a good trip

For everyone who is feeling under the weather, I hope you all get well soon. I swear by "Airborne". I insist the family take this week before we go and even while we are there. We had a bad experience our first few trip to Disney. Both of my kids contracted a virus, developed into viral pneumonia. Our next trip, flu. Next two trips, have used airborne, wiped down airplane tables and arm rests and the rooms with Clorox wipes before we touch anything. We hand sanitizer before and after almost every ride. Maybe a little overkill but, so far, it has kept up healthy. Let's hope this trip is no different. No one wants to be sick at Disney, or get sick there.

We don't do airborne but take vitamin C and Echinea with golden seal pills. I also recently got Christmas scented hand sanitizer from bath and body works. Also travel Clorox wipes for the airplane.

We were there the 11-21 and walked on to buses in the every morning (we usually got on the buses around 7:45 a.m.). Also on the way home we usually hit it with less than a 5 minute wait -- we usually left mid afternoon. The longest waits we had were going from park to park (MK to HS and AK to DS). Buses were full, it was about 50/50 sitting vs. standing. Once we had a bus all to ourselves. We did hop on an Art of Animation bus twice -- once was leaving Disney Springs and another time was leaving MK, just worked with the timing.

The worst was Saturday night leaving MK in the rain, but we knew that was going to be a bit of a nightmare, given the time and the rain.

It's disappointing to hear about the long bus waits. When looking for a resort this trip, we chose POP for many reasons but one was because everyone seemed unaminous in their praise of the bus service at POP. I hope this isn't a trend as I also have read a couple of negative reports lately. We will have cars available, but we were hoping to use the buses especially to MK. Staying tuned to hear what others experience during the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the reports from those of you who have just returned! I appreciate the info.

haha oh man yes, we had flu so bad last trip, it wasn't even a long one, 4 days, so it really put a major damper on what we could do. :( We had even brought clorox wipes but THIS time...we shipped a whole Purell sanitizing kit (lots of sizes of sanitizer and wipes haha) to Pop that should arrive tomorrow...and of course the clorox wipes on everything on planes. So, naturally, we get the flu in the days leading up to going. Both boys missing a day of an extremely short week anyway, only to be gone next week. oh, well. Supper tonight? Star Wars soup. Mini-win for me...now to pack....

We had some long lines for the bus 10/30-11/8 even before or during wishes going back to pop minimum 30 min, I am in an ECV so that often extends the wait at MK. Halloween party night it was one hour of waiting. I guess the avg was 20 min both ways because we had better luck in the mornings. I underestimated how much time we would spend exhausted in line!

In our room at last! Room 4312 is on the end of the building and no connecting door to another room which can I am happy about. I can hear some pool noise but I don't think it will bother me. Really envious of those first floor rooms but the stairs are right next to our room so no biggie (easy to say now but I am sure I will feel differently coming back from the parks). Oh and the Christmas decorations are up!

DH and I watched part of the Pats game from the Pedals poolside bar, it was a beautiful evening, and not too crowded. It was fun!

Bus wait times are always hit or miss, and sometimes in between.8-)
I've stayed at POR, AKL and Pop over the past few years, and had similar experiences as far as wait times; when you arrive at a popular time, between 8:30am-ish and 10am-ish, you should expect long waits and standing room only, and if you get lucky and hit a stop with extra buses and get a seat, then feel happy:P. The best thing about Pop buses are the line queues, I like that there were defined lines. Of course, quite a few times the line extended beyond the queue, mostly for MK buses. Usually as soon as one bus loaded, another bus would pull up. If I recall correctly, the longest wait I had for an MK bus was on a non-recommended MK day, on the weekend (recently) and we waited close to 20 minutes. They had a cast member monitoring the situation and out of the blue a non-Disney park bus showed up - a bus like the DME ones - and we got to sit in style on the way to the park, no standing on those buses. Of course, I was jokingly freaking out because I felt like I was heading for the airport...noooooo! The buses back from the parks were challenging a couple of evenings - and we made sure we didn't leave right after a parade or wishes. They extended the Pop bus pickup queue at the MK on two of the nights we were there, and there were easily a couple of hundred people in line; this was on a extra magic hours eve, and a MVMCP night. A cast member also monitored that situation, and they had buses pull up fairly quickly, however I think we waited over half an hour that night. Again, we got another DME style bus that evening too.
Basically, when you vacation at Disney, you have to expect that there are times when it's a "hurry up and wait" situation!

Thank you! I think this will work perfectly even better if DD will sleep in the stroller and I can watch for a few minutes too :)

Glad to know I'm not the only germaphobe. Many times I've wiped down the tray/armrests on the plane. The family thinks I'm nuts but no one has gotten sick.

I love Airborne and we all use it at the first sign of a cold but unfortunately I'm out right now and can't buy it where I live. I will stock up for the winter while I'm in FL next week. My back up is Echinacea, garlic and vit C which I'm taking right now and so far, I'm feeling no worse(maybe a little better) than yesterday.

One week from today, hubby and I will be at POP for our very first stay there! :) I was between CBR and POP, and I chose POP because we are barely in our rooms (we are "hardcore" park people). I figured I could use the extra savings to buy more souvenirs! haha. I also heard the bus service is great at POP as compared to the multiple stops around the resort at CBR. Can't wait to get there!

I was at POP a few weeks ago during free dining and F&W and agree that the buses seemed more crowded than normal for the Fall but think this is a result of higher attendance/higher occupancy than anything else. Plus the "secret" of rope drop is definitely out. I would try to get to the bus line by 7:45 am and I usually managed to get a seat. More standing on the return back from the parks after 7pm when in the past this was more of a post firework thing. POP still does a good job of busing with its one stop but the Fall crowds have put more pressure on transportation. Relief buses were called when needed but it took time for them to arrive. Generally, MK busing in the a.m. looked much better than to all the other parks as they seemed to anticipate the MK demand better so the buses kept rolling in. I remember waiting for the Epcot bus and watching MK bus after bus come in. I did notice it was more difficult this Fall than previous years.
