Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I have a question about parking since we're driving. Are magic bands automatically activated to allow someone to park a car at the resort and the parks? Or do I have to check in and get something done?

I got an email that I can bypass the front desk and go directly to my room next week when we arrive at POP. How does this work when I still owe my room balance (I booked a room only reservation)? I want to pay the room balance off with Disney gift cards.

My DH and I have a preferred room booked at Pop in a couple of weeks. We will get in around 11:00 a.m. For the online check-in options, if I check the box that says my top request is early check-in, would it still be a guaranteed preferred room? I'm guessing that since we paid for a preferred room that it still would be, but I don't want to check that option if we could possibly be put in a standard room. Thanks for your help, everyone! These boards have been so helpful in planning our trip.

Just arrived two days ago. Noticed a few menu changes, not sure if it's been posted yet.
Gone are all the flatbreads that were available during lunch. Also removed is the Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich... Also noticed the portion size for the BBQ pork ribs was cut in half. Three tiny ribs will cost ya $11.79 if you aren't on the Dinning Plan!
Just an FYI too, buses still have a long wait. MK bus is pretty regular, but waited 40 minutes for a bus to Disney Springs.

DH was also sad to hear of the disappearance of the turkey sandwich as he was looking forward to trying it. We were also going to try the cheeseburger flatbread and are sorry to hear that's disappeared as well. I wonder if any of them will be offered for dinner? If you think of it, could you check and see? Wow! Part of the reason we decided to stay at Pop was the good transportation and to a lesser degree the decent food court. I'm wondering about all of that now.

I can just drive each day I guess but what about the food court? What is good there? Would it be worth to walk over to AoA?
