Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Here now. Plane arrived at MCO around 6:30 pm and got to resort by 7:30 and still waiting for luggage! I called “ “luggage” at 10:30 and I was told they were still in their 5 hour window. I was also told my luggage was on way to resort and now it’s 1:25 am and still no luggage. I called again and was told a manager would be calling me. No one called me back.
Luggage was just now delivered. It’s 1:42 am!
I’m so sorry this happened!! I had a similar experience once when we landed at 6:30 and luggage did not arrive until 2:30am since then I’ve chosen to bring my luggage with me if we land anytime from 5:00pm or later.

I hope you were able to rest after luggage finally reached you and have a great day today!!

(PS for others, Pop’s policy re: luggage delivery is that it is supposed to be delivered within 3 hours of when you arrive at the resort, not 3 hours from when your flight lands. That can be a pretty late window for luggage delivery and as OP shared, they do not always make the 3 hour window.) Edited: originally I thought time frame was 5 hours but it is 3 hours

I will add another question on laundry. Is it super busy early and late, or not too hard to find an open machine?
Late AM/Early PM of course are the best times when most Guests are in the Parks.

At night when everyone returns from the Parks is the most busy Laundry time, but even then, there are usually open machines at one of the 3 Laundries(with Bowling Pool and Computer Pool being the less "in demand") UNLESS you go in January/February/July and run into 15s at every Laundry washing their Tour Shirts for the next day!(happened to us at All-Star Sports last July)lol:)

Just in case you were not aware, you can check out how busy the laundry rooms are by going to the website that I will list at the end. I used it to monitor when my clothes would be finished for both washer and dryer.

From the Disney World homepage:
Scroll down to Guest Services at the bottom of page, click Laundry Services, scroll down in blue letters Learn more about machines currently available for use. It will take you to another website. Enter the resort, then the laundry room you are interested in.

You can go directly to the website, but it won't let me post it here.

I think the policy states it’s supposed to arrive within 3 hours of you arriving at the resort.

You are quite right. I just checked and it does say 3 hours from the time you arrive at your Disney Resort. In that case my luggage has been 'late' more often than I realized.

In December our flight landed at 9:30am and at 8:30pm when we returned from the park I started chasing down my luggage. I went to pick it up at luggage services at 8:30 but was told it was 'out for delivery.' It finally reached my room after 10pm! I was not a happy camper.

Next month our flight lands at 6:30pm so we'll be taking care of our own luggage for sure!

MUCH FUN!:)

One of my fav WDW memories is one night riding the POP bus back "home" from Magic Kingdom after a PM EMH with a group of 15s and other Guests and everybody joining in spontaneously and singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody!:)

GREAT TIMES!

POP has the best Soundtracks(Bus and Resort) on Property!:)
Had a similar experience coming back from MK late at night. We were on a double expansion bus. It was very quiet (everyone was tired). Ghost Busters them song came on. It remained quiet until the line "Who you gonna call?". Then the entire bus shouted "Ghost Busters"! And then we all sang until we got back to POP. What a great way to end the day! :thumbsup2

Sad just missed the new mugs!!

I have a question about having a tub in your room? Just stayed at ASMu and they still have tubs in the rooms. I know they will be updating those rooms also.

Can we request a room with a tub at POP I thought I saw that some of the updated rooms had tubs. Stayed at YC in November and the room we had did not have a tub either.

You can call and request it, a tub is important to me so I always do that and have always gotten one.

No matter what type of vacation you're on, there is always the possibility something may go wrong. I guess I'm lucky as I've had no issues with luggage delivery at POP, but it can randomly happen. I always keep a backpack with a few items just in case. Bathing suit, pj's, toothbrush, good to go...no matter when the luggage arrives. Sometimes I think people tend to give a negative review after one mistake. It isn't indicative of the overall experience no matter which resort you choose. AND....I LOVE POP!

FWIW- I did laundry early in the morning on a Saturday in August. It was empty when I started (maybe around 8am-ish) but it was quite busy by the time I went to switch to a dryer. I think all washers were in use by that time at the computer pool. Also note that the laundry isn't coin-op. A credit card is required.

That website is great! Thanks for sharing!

I was not able to decline housekeeping for the gift card, because of how my TA booked us.

I am curious about this. We have 2 rooms booked for May though a TA using a "convention rate" and wondering if this will be the same for us as well. I was really hoping to be able to decline housekeeping and get a gift card for each room.

Mine was booked as a "group rate," so that's probably the same thing. I was disappointed, especially since I had waited in line at the front desk for 20 minutes at midnight!!!
