Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Is there a place to change? We are probably doing a split stay and wanted to use the pool the day we are switching. Wondering if it would benefit us to book a patio this day
This is exactly what they did! They moved from VWL over to the Poly and enjoyed the patio while they waited for their room to be ready. My DS is saying there is a bathroom available where they changed, though he doesn't recall seeing a "locker room" exactly. He did say they had no problem changing in the bathrooms and enjoying the patio for the day.

One thing to keep in mind is that they'll start admitting guests 30 minutes prior to the start of 'early entry', so if you want to be near the front of rope drop crowds you'll want to be there more than 30 minutes before early entry starts.

MK - From the DVC side I sometimes prefer to walk to the TTC and take the ferry from there, but overall this timing looks right. They'll let guests into MK at 8:00 and into early entry/rides starting at 8:30.

EPCOT - If you want to rope drop Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, keep in mind that you'll be coming through Future World and thus have a pretty big queue of International Gateway folks built up before you make it to the back of the park. On our last trip, we went to MK, took a bus to Beach Club, and walked from there to the International Gateway. We were into the park around 9:00, they let us through to the Remy queue at that time, and once the ride started loading at 9:30 we had a 20-minute wait. If we'd come in through Future World we would've had a much longer wait.

DHS/AK -- They'll let guests through the main gate no later than 8:00. At DHS, they let you into the central plaza where they break guests up into 'pre-queue' groups for Toy Story Land, Star Wars Land, Sunset Blvd, and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. If you want to be closer to the front of those queues, you may want to aim to arrive slightly before 8:00 regardless of your mode of transportation.
Do you know what time they start running the Epcot monorail? We're not interested in Remy, so planned on using the monorail, however our experience last Aug. was that the Epcot line did not start nearly as early as the buses (prior to early entry starting.) We were on the first Epcot monorail of the morning and as we were coming un there were already quite large lines lined up waiting to scan at the entrance. Just wondering if being on the monorail is still a bit of a disadvantage for making early entry rope drop at Epcot.

Minor complaints about the room: under the table were a used mask and a used plastic knife with food on it. Housekeeping had missed that.

We are pretty easy going - but I think this is actually a little more than a minor complaint in a time when you are supposed to see enhanced cleaning. I understand that Mousekeeping is understaffed but still…

Don't treat this as 100% fact, but I 'think' it starts running 1 hour before Early Entry. Hopefully someone who knows for certain can chime in as well.

There are restrooms underneath the Lava Pool volcano that have showers/changing areas. There are also other restrooms at both pools that don't have showers/changing areas.

Personally I don't love changing in the Lava Pool restrooms underneath the volcano because it's often pretty wet in there (especially later in the day when people having been coming in/out all day - it just never dries), although it's the better place to change given the space. The other restrooms are dryer/newer/cleaner, but it means changing in a toilet stall.

Hope that helps!

I’m wondering this too. We’ll get to the poly today and plan to rope drop Epcot tomorrow for EE. I’m not sure how early to get to the monorail or if we should just drive our car

From what I read driving would definitely put you behind the rope droppersof early entry... if you do take the monorail would you mind posting what time the first monorail to Epcot leaves? Trying to figure out if busing folks will already be there and lined up before the first monorail arrives.

Hope you have fun!

A few questions:

Do the rooms with 2 queen beds also have a pull out bed as well? Or will I have to request a rollaway bed? My DD has already expressed that she does not want to sleep with me or her brother?

Have all the rooms been remodeled to the Moana theme? And if not which buildings have been?

Which building is considered the best to choose from?

Thanks in advance!

I think we decided we’re just gonna buy LL for frozen instead of trying to rush in with a toddler so I might not be able to give great info lol. We’ll probably still take the monorail though

Does anyone have any experience renting the areas next to lava pool and how much they are?
That area was removed several years ago at the Lava pool. Only the 3 Patio's at the Oasis Pool are available for daily rental.

When I was there April 2021 there were couches and chairs in some area with a sign that says available for purchase.

They brought that offering back last year, I remember seeing signs for it when I walked over to the Poly from GF last summer.

Resort side all rooms are Moana themed. I think all rooms can sleep up to 5 with a daybed? Unless it's a room with a King Bed (I can't tell if the king bed rooms also have a daybed)

Well we just wasted about an hour trying to get to Epcot on the monorail because it broke down. I think we’ll plan on driving from now on

Sorry. You just never know with WDW transport. I've had awful luck, and great luck, all on the same trip.

We normally always take our car but decided to try the monorail this morning. We’ve never taken it to Epcot before like that. We learned from our mistake and won’t let it happen again lol

Has anyone been to Trader Sam's as soon as it opens lately? I'm meeting a girlfriend one day on my next trip and that was her only wish: to go to Trader Sam's. So we're planning on being there early - but HOW early on a Tuesday would we need to be there? THANK you!

I'm sorry you had such rotten luck with it today. Normally that line is pretty reliable and fun to take (at least once you get into the park, the ride over is kinda boring).
