Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Hi all! We’re booked at the Poly in August, and are planning to spend a couple of days just enjoying the resort. I’m thinking of booking one of the patios for our arrival day, to give us a home base until our room is ready. Does anyone know current rates? We’ll be arriving around 12- should we book a half day or a whole day? Thanks! I always appreciate the good advice I get on these boards!
When we booked the patios last summer, we were required to book the whole day. Hopefully they are allowing half day again now. If booking a half day, we like the morning half especially with the greater chance of rain in the afternoon. I’m sorry I can’t remember to cost. I’m thinking $80-90 for the whole day but not 100% sure.

I kinda wonder if the price was so low because it's January and it's not exactly everyone's definition of pool weather! But I guess you never know!

Pricing is very much seasonal for Oasis patios. I paid around $75 for the full day for our ultimately doomed trip last October. Funny thing is, despite the seasonal pricing it doesn’t really change from year to year. I spent the exact same amount to book a full day during a similar timeframe in Oct. 2018.

Does anyone have any experience renting the areas next to lava pool and how much they are?

We booked one in November when we were there and it was only about $55 for the whole day.

I think so. Since we were there during a slow time, we just booked the day before.

Did you book with someone when there, or call?

We rented it same day back before New Years. Pool was packed and we couldn’t find a single chair, but that thing was open and for $55 I was like “sold!”

For some reason I was under the impression that you couldn’t book this one over the phone, but now I’m questioning why I think that.

We went to the front desk and booked there. There was a phone number on the placard at the patio to call and book, but we asked the server about it and she said that people had been having trouble getting through on the phone and to just go to the desk.

I was just there a week and a half ago, it was definitely not hang out at the pool kinda temperatures!🙂

I stayed at Pago Pago this week for one night. I did not request a specific room or building so I got a 3rd floor, parking lot view. This wasn't a problem because I was just there for one short night, and it was nice to be near my car (sore feet), and Pago Pago is close to TTC which I used three times during the short visit. I made it from the room to MK in not much more than 10 minutes that evening--everything hit perfectly: no line at security, and express monorail just arriving.

The Pago Pago room had a murphy bed, which looked really comfortable.

Minor complaints about the room: under the table were a used mask and a used plastic knife with food on it. Housekeeping had missed that. They don't have individual bottles of shampoo and conditioner anymore, it's all in dispensers in the shower. There is only one elevator in this building. There was plenty of hall noise, as other guests and their kids had no volume control.

Minor appreciations: staff at the Polynesian were very friendly, as always. I like the full-size coffee maker. I made a full pot in the morning, and drank it. I thought the rainfall shower worked better in this room than in previous, unrenovated rooms I have stayed in.

My DS and his friends just did a patio a couple of weeks ago. Full day only, 10am-7pm, total cost was $58.58.
Is there a place to change? We are probably doing a split stay and wanted to use the pool the day we are switching. Wondering if it would benefit us to book a patio this day
