Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Hi folks! We’re staying at the Poly for the first time this August. Our plan is to add two nights on to the end of a 5 night stay at Wilderness Lodge. We aren’t going to do any parks those two days, just relax and explore the monorail resorts. What are your must-dos in the area?

Can anyone say with the refurbishment did they eliminate the studio connecting rooms. I read on a previous old post 2019/20 that poly had easier connecting rooms because they’re plenty.

The refurb did not change the connecting room situation. Poly has 360 studios. 288 standard view, and 72 lake view. All except 2 of those rooms connect to another studio.

So pretty much what you’re saying every room at poly connects. I’ve been watching lots of YouTube videos of the new refurb and not many show connecting rooms. Usually theyre kinda across the main bed. Am I just looking in the wrong place for studios. I only saw some on regular Moana rooms not studios. Where in videos would I be seeing the connecting room? Thanks.

the connecting doors are right by where you walk in. If you check out a video from “here with the ears” they point it out. The door has a full length mirror on it. F889BA73-7B6E-45D8-9579-F9176DA0B518.jpeg

We are arriving in a couple of weeks staying in a DVC studio and I was wondering what the outlet situation is for charging devices. Are there ones on either side of the bed? Other places in the room available. I've tried searching for the answer but not having much luck finding one.

"In addition to a nightstand between the beds, the Queen bed had a shelf complete with USB ports and outlets. In total, this villa had 4 USB ports and 14 outlets. "

Hi everyone! We are staying at the Poly for the first time this May and we are VERY excited. Will be me, my husband, and our 6 and 4 year old. We will be staying in a DVC studio, hopefully Tokelau first floor.

My question: what time should I plan to leave Poly to make rope drop for early entry at each park?

Please tell me if my assumptions are accurate from your experience:
  • MK: 8:30 early entry. Depart hotel room at 7:30 and take monorail to be towards front of crowd (booking it to SDMT)
  • EPCOT; 9:30 early entry. Leave room at 8:30, walk to TTC, take monorail with goal of arriving at EPCOT at 9:15
  • DS: 8:30 early entry, Uber or Lyft at 7:45 to arrive by 8:15, book it to Slinky Dog
  • AK: 8:30 early entry, Uber or Lyft at 7:45 to arrive by 8:15

One thing to keep in mind is that they'll start admitting guests 30 minutes prior to the start of 'early entry', so if you want to be near the front of rope drop crowds you'll want to be there more than 30 minutes before early entry starts.

MK - From the DVC side I sometimes prefer to walk to the TTC and take the ferry from there, but overall this timing looks right. They'll let guests into MK at 8:00 and into early entry/rides starting at 8:30.

EPCOT - If you want to rope drop Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, keep in mind that you'll be coming through Future World and thus have a pretty big queue of International Gateway folks built up before you make it to the back of the park. On our last trip, we went to MK, took a bus to Beach Club, and walked from there to the International Gateway. We were into the park around 9:00, they let us through to the Remy queue at that time, and once the ride started loading at 9:30 we had a 20-minute wait. If we'd come in through Future World we would've had a much longer wait.

DHS/AK -- They'll let guests through the main gate no later than 8:00. At DHS, they let you into the central plaza where they break guests up into 'pre-queue' groups for Toy Story Land, Star Wars Land, Sunset Blvd, and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. If you want to be closer to the front of those queues, you may want to aim to arrive slightly before 8:00 regardless of your mode of transportation.

What a great idea, thank you for sharing.

We are staying in a DVC studio at the Poly right now. There are 2 USB ports and one electric outlet behind the lamp on the table, and 1 USB port and 2 electric outlets next to each side of the bed just under the drawer..

Do you mind sharing if your room has the Murphy bed? If so, which building / room number are you in? Since we are unsure if all rooms actually have the Murphy beds, I’m trying to make a list of those that do for sure. Lol.

Pago Pago 3026 had a Murphy bed (and the same USB ports).

I wish I'd thought to ask at the front desk. Maybe if @minie_meese is still there s/he can find out if they're all done??

Anyone there right now? Does Captain Cook’s still have their flatbread pizzas? I don’t see them on the menu on Disney website anymore. Thanks!

Welcome! I hope you have a wonderful time and fall in love with the resort as much as I did. We will be at the Poly in Sept also.

Hi all! We’re booked at the Poly in August, and are planning to spend a couple of days just enjoying the resort. I’m thinking of booking one of the patios for our arrival day, to give us a home base until our room is ready. Does anyone know current rates? We’ll be arriving around 12- should we book a half day or a whole day? Thanks! I always appreciate the good advice I get on these boards!
