Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

HI All- Looking for some suggestions on timing. We will be driving up from Indian Rocks beach (approx 1:45 drive). We are planning to get to MK for early entry and stay at Poly that night (never stayed there-SO excited!). We are thinking we'd aim to get to Poly by 7:30, do online check-in, park at Poly and take monorail to MK.. As I am unsure of the layout of the parking lot, and it's proximity to the monorail....is there a better way? Do we need more time? Should we unload luggage at the front desk storage at that time or leave luggage in the car and just wait until we get back from the park and can get into our room? Any tips would be great!

I recently did something similar twice in the last year. Check in online days before. Arrive at the gate to Poly parking a bit before 7am if you are doing Genie+. Otherwise 7:30 is fine. Tell the gate guard who you are and that you have already checked in. The guard might check your magic band or check ID. Drive to the right after the guard booth and park there. It's the DVC side, and parking is near the TTC. Leave your luggage in the car.

There is a path at the end of the Pago Pago building to the TTC (3 minute walk). Go through security and take the express monorail from TTC to MK.

Alternatively, go to the Poly lobby ("Main Ceremonial House"), go upstairs, go through security, and take the resort monorail. Your goal is to be inside the MK by about 7:45. That's when they will probably let you begin entering ride queues. Between 8am and 8:30 they will start running the rides, if it's a 9am start day.

Thank you SO much for all of this info...very helpful!
Question about genie+...we are definitely doing Genie+. I guess I thought as long as I did online check-in before 7 I'd be ok but do I actually need to be on property by 7 for it to work?

You should do on-line check-in well in advance, and also room request if you like. Buy Genie+ before your trip. At 7am you can choose your first Lighting Lane ride, or buy a single ride on Seven Dwarves or Space Mountain, or both. You do not have to be on property at 7am to start grabbing Lightning Lane rides. Your partner could do it on her phone while you drive. I was solo and needed to be parked someplace to run my phone.

I'll post a little trip report soon on another thread.

Great- thanks so much...this is all very helpful!

My wife and I are travelling club level in April. I thought I was told when I booked there was Garden View rooms with a King bed + daybed, but Touring Plans says all rooms have 2 queens. Thought I would check here for any personal experiences. Thanks.
Should I make any room requests with DSS?

Hi there everyone! We are showing up next week and if someone has managed to grab a picture of the February activity schedule, would love to see it to plan for next week's trip!

Has Poly brought back room service yet? I want to order the Twilight Feast! If no room service, is there a way to order the feast to-go from somewhere?

When I was there April 2021 there were couches and chairs in some area with a sign that says available for purchase.
As of fall ‘21: There is one small makeshift spot at Lava pool, located by the gate along the walkway across from HI longhouse. It included an umbrella (maybe 2) a small sofa and a few standard pool chairs/lounges. Nothing at all fancy.

I’ve booked a Studio Standard View via DVC and I am wondering which building would be the best to request to be close to main building.

There is still no room service at any resort except the GF and unfortunately ‘Ohana does not offer to go orders like Kona does.
BUT…. You CAN get OHANA noodles, wings and potstickers from Tambu… MAYBE to go if you’d like. If you ask really nice, they may even have some type of ribs/rib tips as well. 😉 🌺
