We check into the Poly July 19th. My DH typically runs or works out at the GF workout center. With the new walking path, can he run part of that up to the gate prior to MK opening and if so does anyone have that mapped out or know how far that is from the Poly? TIA!

Yep, the GF to MK path has been a very welcome running addition, from my perspective! Helps with the monotony of the back and forth from Poly to GF.

If I’m not mistaken, it’s just under 1.5 miles from the TTC side of Poly to the MK front entrance.

The below is a screenshot of a 4.5 miles a few months ago. Back and forth a few times.

I run first thing in the AM. In my experience, the gates across the service canal/swing bridge are closed until 6:30am. Once those open, you can continue on to right around the FW/WL boat dock (the point where the GF path merges into the security checkpoint). I asked one morning if they’d let me run through and they of course said no. :-)

Every time I’ve run it has been a 8am MK opening, I haven’t yet seen a report if the 6:30am opening of the swing bridge gate becomes 7:30am on a 9am MK opening, so not sure about that.

Hope that helps!

As to the pool discussion above, it is generally not Poly SOP to check every pool guest to see if they are in fact Poly guests. Both pools are controlled by MB or room key card scanners for access. Stay at Poly enough and you’re bound to see some questionable things from time to time. But historically Disney has not opted to take a more aggressive approach with things, such as they do at BC/YC Stormalong Bay.

This is just what I needed. Thank you!!

I’m here now and the Oasis pool is at capacity and there are very, very few lounge chairs available at Lava Pool. I’m unpleasantly surprised.
We will be there June 5th-13th and this concerns me- I was hopeful that with only having the DVC side open- at least the pools would be less crowded. Is the pool bar/restaurant open at the Oasis Pool?

I honestly wish they would do the wristband thing at the Poly like at Stormalong Bay. Really sucks to not be able to use the feature pool at your own resort, then overhear some schmuck dad bragging about how he snuck his family in and had a pool break on MK day. (True story.)

Questionable things at SAB too. I’ve stayed there many times and after 7:00pm you see everyone having a break from HS or Epcot.

Does anyone know the time slots to rent a poolside patio and what the cost is?

Poolside anything right now is only full days. Full day is 10a - 7p. Pricing is seasonal, it depends on when you’re going. But they’re a lot less expensive than cabanas at the other Deluxes. I paid around $75 a couple of years ago for a full day in mid-late Oct.

I think the term less crowded is basically thrown out of the window starting this month.. in all aspects of Disney

If anyone has any input on using the Poly pools as to best times of the day for lower crowds, please advise. Really hoped they’d be reasonable with only DVC rooms open. Sounds like they’re pretty crowded. Staying Sunday the 16th-20th.
