So from what I read, 'Ohana is NOT in the list of restaurants opening soon...and it's not a lack of a certain date as Tusker House does not have an exact date yet.

Yeah...it's really funny.

I gave serious consideration to changing to the Grand TPV and saving about $400+ - but for now I'm staying put. I'm not really interested in the Grand - it feels too fancy - and I've not heard good things about the shape of a lot of the rooms.

We stayed there after the Wilderness and went to the Poly the next year. It's a hard no for us now. But with the prices the Poly will now be bringing, we may be outpriced. May be going back to Wilderness. Hope not....time will tell.

But I'll be back home on July 3rd!!!!!

Wilderness has never appealed to me. I feel like if I want to "feel like I'm in the PNW" I'll go to the PNW. LOL.

At this point, IF the worst-case happens and they contact my TA with bad news that they're not going to be open on time I'd have her gun for Yacht Club or Riviera of what's available on the Deluxe level - splurging since it's my 50th birthday!

Unfortunately July is not soon so O'hana would not appear on any list of opening soon dining options. The latest unofficial rumor is that it on schedule to open with the Hotel side on July 19th with at least the first 3 buildings with the Moana theme (Aotearoa, Fiji, Tuvalu) and the Tonga Suites (CL services ???).

The latest rumor I heard was that the Hawaii building may not be ready by July 19th reopening date.

Is that Poly’s new Irish dinner show opening this summer? :goodvibes 😇:duck:

DIS tidbit of the day for any newcomers - never say O’hana or Ohanas on the Restaurant Board.... they aren’t very nice about those kind of honest mistakes over there. Don’t ask how I know. :rotfl:

Same here. While I can appreciate the lobby of WL I can visit the real thing (Timberline Lodge) in less than 2 hours. The LAST place I want to be while on vacation is at Wilderness Lodge. (Although I could possibly be talked into a stay at the cabins)

I used it as a cover since I was sharing a rumor but you were the one to pickup on it and call me out.
I felt safe and you blew my cover. :thanks: :chat: :crazy2:

Hi all - I was reading that in addition to the non-DVC units at Poly that the DVC units are getting a soft-goods refresh this year. Assuming that's true(?)- does anyone know if that work has started? Also, for recent guests - did things seem a bit worn down or are things still in good shape?

I had a split stay planned for the fall but when BWI had a discount I switched out WL. I think it is very charming but we don't like not being able to walk to any parks.

The last rumor I heard was the end of this month. Not sure though.

I just booked a Christmas trip for our family for this year. Staying here at the Polynesian.
Just wanted to say thank you for all of the information that I have read so far!

The last time I stayed at the Poly was back in the late 70's when I was a kid.

I am assuming everything will be completed at the Poly by then (Dec 23 -> 28) as what I have seen here says they will be open by the end of July.

For those looking for information on the DVC soft goods refurb, it looks like it may be imminent. On another website, I saw a link to permits being filed on 04/30/2021 for all the Polynesian DVC rooms including the water bungalows. The owner information on the permit is "Disney Vacation Club Management Corp" and the contractor is "Balfour Beatty Construction LLC" with an expiration date of 11/25/2022
