Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Has anyone been at the Poly recently? How was the pool wait list or line to get in? I just saw a post about a 3 hour wait to get in the pool at another resort and wondering if it’s the same at the Poly.

Is this for every resort at Disney right now?? Or just some resorts? This is a massive deal breaker for us. We're going over 4th of July.

The 3 hour wait was at Coronado this past weekend. I’m hoping it isn’t the same at Poly because we have dedicated pool time for a couple of afternoons when we go. I’m hoping the lower occupancy rate means no crowding at the pool.

I think it will be deal breaker for us too. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Yes, very curious about any pool “wait”. Set aside a day at the resort and relaxing on our trip from 5/16 - 5/20....

That's before the hotel side reopens, so you're probably good. It's likely only going to even be a possibility after the reopening in July.
With both pools open and only the DVC buildings occupied, I highly doubt you'll have a problem.

Not sure how this happened but dd called last night and we discussed our plans for her birthday trip (see my signature). Then she says, "why don't we go a day earlier???". I look and no, and I mean NO park passes available to add a day.

You might guess where I am going with this..... If I have to have a resort day? IT'S THE POLYNESIAN!

So we arrive tomorrow.

Pool bar open for just beverages? FOOD or nothing?

I did get a Kona 8:15 for Thursday before we check out . It is our Epcot day so we eat, uber to YC and walk in for 11am easy peasy!

Poly is my fav and its been forever since I have stayed here. I have only done the studio once but I love the decor and guaranteed balcony

Get ready for pix tomorrow!!! WOOT WOOT!

I don't know about groceries as I don't go on vacation to cook. LOL.

In terms of Magical Express, yes. They need to know your incoming and outgoing flight information - incoming to be prepared and outgoing to schedule your return trip.

Ive rented DVC points for the first time for Poly. I wanted to make a room request, and the rental site I used said I have to just email them my request, they’ll forward it to the owner, but after I that I have no way to confirm the owner made the request? Anyone have any experience with this? I do know requests are not guaranteed. I want to request a third floor room & hoping to avoid the first floor.

I am renting points in under two weeks at the Poly. What I did was ask the owner to put the request in. Then, after the reservation showed up in MDE, went in to Touring Plans room request tool and also put a request in there. (That's a subscriber only feature, fyi.)
I've spoken to dvc owners who also make their request through member services and again through touring plans.
That said, I rented privately through a DIS'er sand they sent me a screenshot of the chat with member services where they made the request.

My significant other doesn't want to go to Poly the first week of July because she thinks the lobby will be closed and nothing open..

I assume the lobby will always be open correct, and the only thing really closed will be the monorail ( hoping that finish that early though )

I am hoping for Fireworks..Oh please fireworks.. Tech I rather have fast passes but I really hope we start seeing some good changes Memorial Day weekend

I rented points for a stay here in mid-May. I didn't realize the monorail isn't operating at all from this resort. What's the best way to get to the parks if I don't mind lots of walking or Ubering and want to rope drop?

Does the Gold line bus go to the CR early enough that I could take that and then walk from CR to get to MK? Would that probably get me there earlier than walking to TTC and taking the boat or the monorail from there? Would taking an Uber to the Speedway be the best way to rope drop HS, or would the bus get me there early enough? How about Epcot--I'm guessing the monorail probably won't be running to Epcot by mid-May, right? Are any boats running from Poly to MK?

You can walk over to the TTC and catch the monorail from there. It's short walk from the DVC buildings.
