Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Question: Can I use magical express if I don't fly into Orlando? I was going to head down to Florida for a few days before my Disney Trip starts, but want to experience the Magical Express one last time before it goes away. I would be going the day my resort reservation starts.

Also, can I even get into the magical express area with my bags without security? I assume I would just walk into the baggage claim area and walk to it?

Thanks

People who used to fly in a day early would often provide some random flight info for when they wanted to leave, but idk how feasible this is in the current environment

Hi All,

I found posts from Sept/Oct saying that there was no in-room dining being offered. Is that still the case or has anything changed?

Thanks!

There is a Gold Route bus that starts at 7:00 AM that runs to route between the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Contemporary to Polynesian until 30 minutes prior to MK opening. Think of it as the "Breakfast" bus.

The resort Monorail line should also be open daily at 7:00 AM but from the Polynesian you would need to make the short walk to the TTC to catch it. Note: it will not stop at the MK Monorail stop until operations decides the MK is ready to receive guests.

It also runs in the evening about 1 hour after the MK closes and the Resort Monorail stops running for the evening until 11 PM or later. Think of this as the Dinning bus.

Note: As always double check the transportation board in the Lobby for the specific hours during your visit.

Hi everyone, :wave:We are staying at the Poly 9/11-9/18 lagoon and/or pool view. My son has always been a Poly fan since he was little. Me not so much. So I decided that since I have stayed at my favorite Disney resorts for many years, I wanted to surprise him. I also invited 1 of his really good friends to come with us. They are both 25.

So, the more I'm researching and seeing the newly renovated rooms, I'm beyond excited to be staying at the Poly. :flower1:

So for giggles I plugged in the GF’s address on the Postmates app to see which restaurants on property delivered on there, since I saw someone in another thread mention that Homecomin’ did, and lo and behold Pineapple Lanai popped up. My mind is blown right now!

....personally, i think the newly-decorated rooms look really pretty.

Has anyone been at the Poly recently? How was the pool wait list or line to get in? I just saw a post about a 3 hour wait to get in the pool at another resort and wondering if it’s the same at the Poly.

I would say probably not an issue since only the dvc portion is open currently.

Lot of grounds work going on around Fiji and Aotearoa on the Spirit of Aloha side. Seems like replacing chilled water lines and/or some other kind of plumbing (that’s a guess on my part, I’m not a construction expert). Honestly it’s a bit of a mess, don’t look if you don’t want to see Poly’s bad side. :-)

Tuvalu. Landscaping, as one might imagine, is due for some cleanup when they’re done.

I haven’t seen anything about the Poly pool, but it does make me nervous for our stay in August considering both the resort side and DVC side will be open and it will be so hot and everyone is going to want to be at the pool(s).

I'm very interested in the situation also. Were going in August too and not having access to the pool whenever we want could be a deal breaker.
