We returned a week ago from a Poly/CBR split stay - our first time at the Poly. It's a very beautiful resort! We checked in at around 7:00 am. I had requested Aotearoa north facing or Fiji west facing (standard view) on our reservation, but were told we had a room in Niue. I asked about the other longhouses, a call was made, and we were put in Aotearoa room 2120, ground floor as requested. The room felt spacious and we also had one of the pull out sofa beds which was a nice surprise and my DD(6) loved it. We had a lovely view from our patio, when sitting our standing at the edges we had a great view of the Grand Floridian and Cinderella Castle, though there was a tree would have blocked wishes I think (we never got a chance to watch from the patio - we did watch Wishes one night from the Lava Pool side of the Marina and had a great view and could hear the piped in music). It was a very easy walk to the GCH and Lava Pool. I didn't time it, but I would guess a little less than 10 min walk to TTC. We had great meals at O'hana and Captain Cooks, and Trader Sams was so fun (we didn't try the food, only drinks)! We went twice and had to wait on a table each time but only about 5 minutes. We loved being on the Monorail! We also had a very nice ferry ride to MK from the TTC.
I do feel like our room could have been cleaner, also the hallway was somewhat dirty at times and there was a bit of trash on our patio. The wall by the toilet looked pretty rough as was peeling, and the shower curtain rings and surrounding area was rusty. When we spoke to the front desk (very nicely) about the cleanliness of the room, it was cleaned again and the rings were replaced, though the trash on the patio was not removed. I was somewhat underwhelmed with the Lava Pool (we love the BC and Stormalong Bay), and the drinks at the Pool Bar weren't the best. We would go to Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace for drinks in the future, it's not far from the pool at all. The kiddie splash area was nice and we enjoyed the hot tub. We were always able to find a couple of chairs by the pool in the afternoon, and I did notice the life guards would go around every hour or so and remove towels from chairs that clearly weren't being used.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in July! I would definitely request Aotearoa again.
