I'm glad to hear this because I'd love for my older two to be able to play with their 2 yr old sister while my husband or I supervise.

I thought the height restriction was primarily for the smaller slide as one slide is fully enclosed and I saw several older children using it and the splash area on our last visit.

Quiet Pool is a nickname given by the fans. WDW calls non-feature pools Leisure Pools.

Actually, on the WDW room reservation site, they call the quiet pool at Poly "Quiet Pool" (quote below, bold mine):

Garden View - Club Level

2 Queen Beds and 1 Day Bed
Sleeps up to 5 Adults

Thanks for posting this, menu looks great! Did they have a drink menu posted? I don't mind busy, but were there screaming kids everywhere, or was it more calm and adult-oriented? Is there a gate to make sure everyone there is a Poly guest?

There is definitely a gate with MB locks. The Pool wasn't open yet when we were there a few weeks ago, so I can't answer about the screaming kids. :) It looked really nice though.

Hi there! We are getting excited to be in double digits soon! I wonder if the club level lounge offers uncrustable sandwiches at snack time? I seem to remember the WL club level having that during the day. Thanks!

Here is the menu at the New Oasis Pool

Beautiful pool by no means a "quiet pool". It was very busy every day this week. Food/Drink service is very nice.
Nice comfortable cushioned chairs.

Hawaii building supports were finished being painted on the pool side Tuesday.

Thanks for posting the menu. Hope you had a great time :).

We have not stayed at the Poly in years and are looking forward to coming back. We are only staying one night before a cruise for my DD's hs graduation. She looooves Dole Whips. DH looooves Trader Sams so it's a win for everyone!

Congrats to your DD on her graduation! I'm sure you'll have a great stay. I think the Poly is a great choice, even for just 1 night :goodvibes.

It won't be long before you're checking into the Poly :yay:.

I can't answer about the sandwiches, but hopefully others will be able to help :flower3:.

I'm sure you must be getting exited! In my experience, I have not seen the uncrustable sandwiches out during daytime snacks, but I have seen them on a rotation (every few days) for evening appetizers (they are cut up into finger portions). Several years ago a CL CM told me to always ask if we needed an uncrustable and they would be happy to give us one if they had any in the back. When we have asked...sometimes they have them, sometimes not, sometimes the CM looks at us like we're crazy, sometimes they stop what they're doing and quickly go check - kind of a mixed bag! I will caveat that my last Poly CL stay was this past October, offerings will change and evolve over time. Hope you have a great stay!

There are three bathrooms. I forget if this is the one in the hall or off the second bedroom. Note the TV in the mirror.

While the bungalows are attractive, does anyone know the occupancy rate? Since the price (on points or outright through Disney) is so exorbitant, how many people actually rent for longer than a night or two? Just curious. I always thought the suites (Tonga) at Polynesian were a bit on the pricey side and never really saw them fully occupied. I can't envision these behemoths being fully booked all the time. Seems to me, if you are going to pay the price, you would want CL service to go along with your stay.

Hey Poly experts. I have booked our first timer trip as a family for the week of Thanksgiving. Will the Poly have Christmas decorations up during that time? Also, where can we find traditional Thanksgiving feast on Thanksgiving Day?

It's a good question. I think these would do much better as cash sales, regardless of an outrageous nightly rate. I think these are perfect for the rich investment banker who will take his family to Disney World once, and wants the extra privacy. Meaning, not us. :).

I actually got to tour a bungalow about a week ago, since I was purchasing an add-on to DVC. Since it was after the normal 2-4pm hours (I had gotten there later than expected), it was actually someone from the hotel side giving me and the DVC person a private tour of one that wasn't occupied. Anyway, the point of this post is that I asked the hotel person if the bungalows were normally full, and he said yes that most of the bungalows are occupied every night. So I guess somebody must be paying the money or points, lol. I can see why they charge a premium though, it really is a unique unit with some unique features.

Question for those who went there recently:

The last time I've stayed at the Poly there was two things I loved... The water feature in the lobby and the torches/tiki lamps (fire) along the pathways at night.

I like the new pool better. I'll always miss the old water feature in the lobby but I like the new one a lot.

But what happened to the tiki lamps, are they still there? *fingers crossed*[/QUOTE

Yes.

Awesome pics, thanks for posting :).

Congrats on booking your first Disney trip. I think you chose a great resort as the Poly is amazing! I think the resorts get decorated the weekend of Thanksgiving, but I'm not positive. Hopefully others who have been there during that time will be able to give a definite answer. Happy planning :wizard:.

Len Testa talked about them in his recent podcast. He said the occupancy rate was around 40%.

We returned a week ago from a Poly/CBR split stay - our first time at the Poly. It's a very beautiful resort! We checked in at around 7:00 am. I had requested Aotearoa north facing or Fiji west facing (standard view) on our reservation, but were told we had a room in Niue. I asked about the other longhouses, a call was made, and we were put in Aotearoa room 2120, ground floor as requested. The room felt spacious and we also had one of the pull out sofa beds which was a nice surprise and my DD(6) loved it. We had a lovely view from our patio, when sitting our standing at the edges we had a great view of the Grand Floridian and Cinderella Castle, though there was a tree would have blocked wishes I think (we never got a chance to watch from the patio - we did watch Wishes one night from the Lava Pool side of the Marina and had a great view and could hear the piped in music). It was a very easy walk to the GCH and Lava Pool. I didn't time it, but I would guess a little less than 10 min walk to TTC. We had great meals at O'hana and Captain Cooks, and Trader Sams was so fun (we didn't try the food, only drinks)! We went twice and had to wait on a table each time but only about 5 minutes. We loved being on the Monorail! We also had a very nice ferry ride to MK from the TTC.

I do feel like our room could have been cleaner, also the hallway was somewhat dirty at times and there was a bit of trash on our patio. The wall by the toilet looked pretty rough as was peeling, and the shower curtain rings and surrounding area was rusty. When we spoke to the front desk (very nicely) about the cleanliness of the room, it was cleaned again and the rings were replaced, though the trash on the patio was not removed. I was somewhat underwhelmed with the Lava Pool (we love the BC and Stormalong Bay), and the drinks at the Pool Bar weren't the best. We would go to Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace for drinks in the future, it's not far from the pool at all. The kiddie splash area was nice and we enjoyed the hot tub. We were always able to find a couple of chairs by the pool in the afternoon, and I did notice the life guards would go around every hour or so and remove towels from chairs that clearly weren't being used.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in July! I would definitely request Aotearoa again.

We have just booked our second Poly stay for mid-August, and I am having trouble deciding on my longhouse request. We are booking a garden view room. On our last poly trip we stayed in Tokelau, first floor, east side, close to the beach. My kids favorite thing was having direct access to run back and forth to the beach from our first floor room. I loved that they could run to the beach with dh while I sat on the patio with my coffee. If we are looking for easy direct access to a beach, what will our best bet be now? Based on Tikiman and touring plans, it looks like maybe Fiji or Aotearoa? We were never on that end of the resort on our last stay, so I am unfamiliar with it.

We stayed in a north facing room in Aoteroa about 2 weeks ago, and we would definitely request it again in the future. We had a nice view of the castle from our 1st floor patio.

You can see the fireworks from most of the pool area but right now with the reduced hours for this time of the year the pool closes at 8 so you can't be inside the pool area at fireworks time.

We were there March 8-10 and the main pool and hot tub was open until 10 pm :)

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a nice time overall and are looking forward to another Poly stay :).
