Rented a villa for the middle of July. Was later told by a friend that Polynesian was undergoing major renovations. I hope I didn’t make a mistake

Any suggestions? Should I try to switch to a more open resort or gamble and see if they reopen by July.

check out some of the just back threads. Some are quite happy about the quiet atmosphere, less crowded pools, etc.

We were there 2/12 to 2/16 and they were actively working on the splash pad area. My family used the quiet pool only, but we did see construction crew there when we walked by.

We are hoping to make our first trip to WDW. 2022 seems the most realistic for us so started searching the website as soon as that year opened up. My sister has her heart set on a Polynesian Bungalow. She is also set on using the Monorail.

We flew from Oregon to California in the late 70’s to go to Disneyland and she has very fond memories of riding the Monorail.

We input a LOT of dates but could not find any openings. Could it already be completely booked?

Any help appreciated!

Hi there. The Bungalows are DVC units, so cash availability (to the extent there is any) will not be available to book until 11 months out, so you’re too early for most of 2022 at the moment.

I booked 3 standard view as well. I guess standard view = old garden view? I assume they changed the name as some "garden view" rooms look at the parking lot?

Garden View rooms are in all longhouses except Somoa, the DVC longhouses (Tokelau, Pago Pago, Moorea) and the club level ones (Hawaii and Tonga). I recommend the Touring Plans Polynesian Room Finder. Don't think I can link it....

I have been looking at touring plans...that's what I was kind of thinking that was the case. Standard view = garden view...Some of those have beautiful views!

There is a soft goods refurb planned, but that is distinct from the Moana work currently ongoing. They’re historically maintained somewhat distinct decor. I don’t think I’ve seen any concept art for the DVC side yet though.
