Just booked a trip for April 2022. Was going to stay at the Poly for 6 nights but need 3 rooms for our extended family, so going to do a split night with the Swan as I have a bunch of Marriott points. Thinking about the accommodations, for a similar price to 3 separate rooms, I could get the 2 bedroom ambassador suite or for a bit more the King Kamehameha Suite. I would be losing one queen bed so it may not work (3 rooms will have 4 queens and 1 king, Suites will have 2 queens, one pull out queen, one king), but I would be gaining a great gathering place for my family reunion and concierge level to boot.

Has anyone heard that these suites are being renovated as part of the current work that is going on? Is club level open yet?

No but assume that they will be refurbished. And still no CL or any date for a date as of yet.

Note: Three rooms does provide you with 3 full bathrooms with tub / shower combinations.

Just curious, how many people are we talking here?

6 definite in these rooms: My wife and I, my parents, my son (17) and daughter (16). Considering 2 rooms, but sticking one of my kids at their awkward teenage years with their grandparents may not work. My younger sister may come with her daughter (15), which could still work with 3 rooms. Although the suites say they sleep 8, things may be tight. I certainly don't want to get stuck on the pull out couch!

Another sister is coming with her husband but staying separately.

Big crew!

IMO, the Ambassador Suite is more livable than the King K suite. While the King K suite is bigger and has a better view, it only has 2.5 baths. The guests on the pull out queen on the first floor have to go upstairs to one of the restrooms off the bedrooms to take a shower.

The Ambassador Suite has 3 full bathrooms and the guests on the pull out queen arguably have more livable/functional space.

But you are right, despite their sizes, they do get small pretty quick depending on your party makeup.

FWIW, and this may be way over budget, but the King K suite connects to both of the 1-BR suites and the Honeymoon suite, so it’s possible to make it a 3, 4, or 5-BR suite. The Honeymoon Suite price isn’t ‘that bad’ (relatively speaking!) since it’s roughly the size of a regular room, so is a decent option to expand space/beds/baths if also booking the King K suite.

Hope that helps, happy to answer any questions.

It would be safe to say that the whole adventure is out of my budget, but we are celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of our first trip to Disney (March1972 at the Poly) so we’re splurging. Thanks for the info on the bedroom expansion, I’ll look into it

Yeah, the suites only make sense for most when you’re just going all out for something super splurgy or you’re splitting the cost with multiple parties. While cool/unique and all, there are typically some better ways to put your money to use around WDW. :rotfl:

Are the Bungalows not an option? They sleep up to 8 and have space.

I assume villas will not go on sale until later this year?
Poly doesn‘t have any villas. They only have studios and the bungalows in the DVC section. Bay Lake and the Villas of the Grand Floridian have 1 & 2 BR villas. I’m not sure when Disney opens them up for cash rentals. DVC members can book them 11 months in advance if it is their home resort or 7 months if it is not. If you were thinking of going this route, you may want to look into renting points. It is usually significantly cheaper but the cancellation policy may be severely restricted or non existent. You also don’t get daily Mousekeeping.

Studios and bungalows are villas. They just don't have any one, two or three bedroom villas at the Polynesian.

Well then why don’t say that in the room description? It says studio or bungalow. For the 1,2 and 3BR unit the room description says villa.
