I am literally sitting here dreaming about our upcoming trip in August. I am so excited to finally be staying at the Poly as I've wanted to stay here since I was 7. And to be doing CL - and celebrating our 15th anniversary!!! So excited.

DH is currently deployed, so my happy place is dreaming about this trip....August...get here already!!!!

So happy for you to be making your dream come true! We are staying CL at the Poly in May 2018 so we have lots of time to dream and love to hear about others' experiences:)

Does anyone happen to have a photo or review of the cabanas @ the Poly pools? TIA :)

There are just the 3 structures at the Oasis Pool.

Depending on sun angle, they don't even provide shade all of the time. There is seating in them, unlike this picture, but I think the LACK of the seating shows the sun angle problem quite nicely so I'm using it.

thank you - i know some cabanas i've seen in the past (not Disney) have 'privacy curtains or shades' which it doesn't look like these have? That's very disappointing as the idea behind a cabana is to escape the sun =(

@ErinsMommy We booked a cabana for our first visit to poly, they're vastly cheaper than cabana rentals at Grand Flo and Contemporary but also contain much less. It was something like $71 including tax to reserve it for the whole day.

Not worried about the cost - just want escape from the sun but doesnt look like that'll happen.

Realistically, they only provide much in the way of shade part of the day.

im sorry one more question. what kind of set-up is in the cabana? chairs or a couch type thing? wondering if the chairs can be moved around so not in direct sun?

There's a couch, a table and a couple chairs. There's a limited amount of space to move them around in.

Frankly, if you nab one, the umbrella tables are more reliably shady.

I'm bummed to hear that the Tonga Toast is still dry. It used to be amazing, but they changed the bread supplier awhile back and pretty much ruined it. At least according to DH, who made a point of getting it on every trip, until last May when it was so bad he ended up getting it comped. The manager came out and talked to us for a long time, convincing us that they were very close to getting it right again. But that was almost a year ago, so it sounds like a lost cause.

I expected to break into the toast and have ooey, gooey banana delicious run out (sort of like a boston cream filled donut). When it didn't, I was kind of shocked and then cut into the middle of the toast entirely... didn't find anything. The little pieces of dried banana were all on one side and so sad. :(

Oh well, at least I ate 19 dole whips.

Are Tambu Lounge and Kona Island capable of takeout? I was hoping to grab some sushi at Kona Island, Bread Pudding and a Lapu Lapu at Tambu and Pork Fried Rice at Captain Cooks and taking it back to the Cabana for lunch.

Thank you so much! There will only be 3 of us so thinking maybe if we chair hop we'll be ok! The umbrella table I'm sure we have to get out there early for and while I'll be up early, the other 2 are definitely not early birds. LOL.

With the new security procedure, are you better off taking the monorail or walking to the TTC?

Like the above mentioned the new security measures going on how does this impact the transportation at the poly? Say taking the Monorail or fairy to MK?
Sorry if this was asked already I did look on the first page! :) or can you point to where the information for this is?

Thank you - is the oasis pool deep as well? I'm assuming most of the kids are by the lava pool?
Not sure of the exact depth, but Oasis does have a "deep end." During the day most families are at the main pool. But have seen plenty of kids at the Oasis pool late at night.

When we were there, plenty of kids at the Oasis Pool. For certain types of pool games, it's a much better pool, and kids love the bubblers in the zero-entry, and the ducks.

ducks? i looked at a couple of maps of the Poly, things of course can look much closer/further away than they really are - what is the real distance? When we did the Poly CL tour the Volcano pool was right there. Is the oasis pool on the opposite side of the CL building?
