If staying ground floor at Poly CL Hawaii, are you able to unlock and enter the room from the patio door or do you have to go inside?
Just checked out yesterday. Second time in 6 months. I'm a crazy noise person- can't sleep with ANY noise. I read reviews about noise and I don't get it. I did hear a little one running above us one morning and doors slamming. But other than that, nothing. It was quiet. Didn't even hear the boat horn once.Staying at Poly DVC in June. I've heard it's very noisy there, is that true? Otherwise very excited! I haven't been in June yet, are the crowds crazy?
Thank you!!
Are there kid and/or adult raincoats sold at the shop(s?) at Poly?
Yup. If you don't see them out just ask. If it's supposed to be a nice day they will be behind the counter. If there's storms in the forecast they'll be out. But they are always there.
We just returned from our first stay at the Polynesian and I really liked it! We rented DVC points and were lakeside on the first floor of Moorea. After reading the boards, I wanted to address three things that I read here and add something else that skeeved me out but wouldn't deter me from booking again (although maybe it should).
Overall, I did really enjoy the Poly a lot. I'm borderline on loving it, I need to spend more time there!
- I was worried that the ferry horns would be an issue but they never were. They went a little later than I expected at night (maybe 11pm) but in the morning I never even heard them. I don't consider myself a heavy sleeper, but I wasn't woken up by them at all.
- The monorail was up and working every time we wanted to use it, woohoo!
- Tonga toast was a total and absolute let down. It was dry, barely any banana inside, just sad.
- (this is the skeevy one) During our trip we ate at Capt. Cook's and sat inside in a booth at the corner... while sitting there a cockroach, only slightly smaller than my thumb, came out of the woodwork in the wall. It immediately disappeared but I was shocked and kind of disgusted. Are cockroaches normal for Florida? I know my friends in Hawaii call them "the ants of the island" because they're everywhere... but I really don't know what to think about that. Gross. I did immediately tell two Cast Members but I did not get the impression they took me very seriously.

Thanks for your report! How early did you use the monorail? Just seeing how things may be going in the mornings. Thanks!
Last week, we got the MK monorail for breakfast reservations around 7:15am. The just changed the security at monorail resorts though (where they're checking bags prior to getting onto the monorail), not sure if that will affect it at all.
Roaches and Palmetto Bugs are extremely common in Florida. When we lived there we used to call them the unofficial state animal.

Florida is an E-Ticket ride for creepy-crawly things that can't make it to Australia.
So I've kind of read some contradicting information on here regarding this question, just trying to decide what to do... We are staying at the Studio Deluxe Villas on rented points in December. For all my other trips booked directly through Disney I've always had my room requests sentence in via Touring Plans (I have a subscription). Can I still have Touring plans send my request as long it's with the parameters of the room type we rented or do I NEED to have the owner put in requests for me??
Awesome, thanks!!We are staying on rented DVC points in a few weeks and I had the same question. I emailed Touring Plans and they assured me a request faxed through their site would work fine.
