How does the fax service work? I have a TP subscription and didn't know this was available.

On the website, you can add a trip. If you haven't done this already, go ahead and create one. Then on your "Dashboard" near the top, you will see "click here to add an on-site hotel". Once hotel is added, you will see name of hotel with "click to find a room". Once you have found your ideal room, above the photo you will see "Click here to make a request for this room during
your upcoming trip". Finally, back on your Dashboard, "edit fax" to add your name, reservation number and any other info you would like. Touring plans will then send a fax to the hotel 5 days before your arrival. You should be notified once it is sent.

20 days out! Magic bands have arrived, along with our luggage tags and so have my nerves. Now I'm stressing over getting the last few things we need. It's more stressful this trip because both kids start school the day after we come home. So not only do I need to get the last minute things for disney but all thier school supplies too! Ugh

We did this last year. We had 10 days at AKL and came home the night before school started. DD (they live with us) was home so she was able to pick up DGD's supplies. Luckily we pre-order them in a kit so no shopping necessary.

11 days until we arrive at the Poly!!! Words can not describe how excited I am!!! It looks soooo beautiful!! I can't wait to see it in person. We are staying CL and my kids don't know, so I'm super excited to surprise them with that. We have our magic bands and luggage tags. Now it is just packing and waiting. I have bought WAY too many custom mouse ears and Disney shirts to wear. But a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, right? Yay!!!!!!

So even though we're staying club level, DH still wants most breakfasts to be at a restaurant....so.... I just booked Tusker House for the AK morning. Our ADR is for 8:05am, but the park doesn't open until 9am that day.

I feel like a total newbie asking this, but will the bus be running from the Polynesian to AK early enough to get us to our breakfast on time? Also, we'll have an electric scooter with us, so that sometimes takes a few extra minutes getting onto the bus.

Ugh I am )almost) in the same boat. She goes back to school 4 days after we get back. They go back early this year!

Is there music piped in for Wishes on Poly beach? I know there used to be, but I am hearing it doesn't any more. Recent experience?

I am staying at the poly, in a villa studio, for the first time in 2 weeks.

Is it true you can only book the dvc property thru Disney 9 months out?

I know owners can book at their resort 11 months out and others can book 7 months out, so I think DVC is offered to the general public in between those 2 times, but I don't know for sure. Hopefully others will be able to give some input .

We are just back from our week at the Poly. I used Touring Plan's fax service to request Samoa, 3rd fl, west side (Lava pool view). We got our exact request. It was a lovely view of the Lava pool, bay, and Grand Flo.

The east pool is fenced off. They are using back hoe's to rip out the concrete and structures. Sometimes our building would shake. They stopped by dinner time. They were also doing some façade work on our building. Again, it was done by dinner time so it didn't bother us.

We didn't swim, but had a perfect pool view. The pool didn't seem overly crowded. People really need to pick up their towels. The lifeguards were constantly cleaning up after people.

Our room was spotless. CM's nice.

I didn't go past the East pool to check out the villa's, so I can't comment on that area.

When the pool closed at 11, the resort became nice and quiet.

The safe was large enough to hold our 17" laptop.

Glad you had a great time and enjoyed the Poly .

Just got back last night from a Polynesian villa stay and watched wishes from the beach in front of the pool on Fri night there wasn't any music piped in.

If your booking a regular villa or bungalow stay not as a DVC member you may book that at any time if available.

I was just reading tikiman's facebook page yesterday and there was a discussion on this. He had thought the music was no longer piped to the beach, but multiple people added to the conversation and said they had stayed very recently and they did have music on the beach. So maybe it's intermittent for some reason? I hope they still do have it, I thought it was so much better with the music. Without the music I was more ambivalent about watching Wishes out of the MK.

I'm booked in CL GV and my online check-in window is in 9 days, is there any advantage to doing online check-in with this room category? If so what options would be offered?

They were showing the children's movie at the time and paused it for wishes so maybe the gal running it didn't know how to cue in the music? Just a wild guess because she was having a hell of a time just keeping the screen for the movie from falling down. Tikiman will be there soon and I'm sure will report back any info on it.

We were just in the pool so ventured over to the movie and watched wishes, the next night we were at Top of the World where they pipe in the music and I wouldn't bother watching it again without music.

On a side note the pool gates were left open and people were wondering in watching them from the lounge chairs. The guards seemed like they had had it with the pool gates the head guard on duty made comments to that effect to my older daughter who was nearby.

We did online check in yesterday..... I'm not a gambler but we are rolling the dice. My mother wants to try Samoa with a balcony. It's against my better judgement but I did it. If it's really bad I will ask Nicely to see if we can move. I just want to be close to everything and at the end of the a long park day not having to walk long to the room is heaven on my feet. My choice was Rarotonga I figured close to the bus, GCH, food, pool and monorail. Long with the fact there are more rooms in Rarotonga our chances of being on the non -construction side was better. See I had this all thought out, mom on the other hand likes the pictures facing the pool that was it. Soo guess no matter how old u are u have to listen to your mother . One of us will be saying "told u so" lol honestly I keep saying I'm at the poly at disney who can't be happy.

Question..... We r staying on the magical deal. I'm trying to figure my money, if I have extra and can work it out (can't do it before need that last pay check to pull it off) could I ask to upgrade us to CL and pay the difference at check in, if there r rooms available? Anyone know if these is possible....thank u

Are the sinks in a standard Poly room in the bathroom or out? Are the toilet and shower together? Is there a privacy curtain?
Traveling with my DH and 2 de's so any inch of privacy I can get is a bonus. Any pics of the standard rooms? I've seen pics but can't be sure they're standard rooms.

There are 2 sinks in the same room as the tub/shower and toilet. No separation for the toilet IIRC. Just one bathroom with sinks, toilet, and shower/tub in there behind one door.
