Just thought i'd give y'all a quick update.

Had my face 2 face today, it was sheduled for 3:20pm but I didn't get in till just before 4.

The person who did my interview was lovely, made it a really relaxed interview for me, the questions she asked weren't much different to my pre screen interview but she focused this more on the roles I'd chosen, I had to select 8 roles out of the 12 possible ones. I was in with another person for my interview aswell.

I'll find out in 2-3 weeks according to my interviewer, I can't wait :)

To the rest of you with interviews, hope it goes well for you, don't worry about it :)

And to end with the quote I got given as I left the interview. Have a Magical Day:goodvibes:

Oooo, sounds good!! When my friend interviewed for the 2009 program, she said they interviewed in pairs then too!

All the best x

DD had her interview yesterday. Again in pairs.

Fingers crossed for you all pixiedust:

This is so interesting :) how do you apply for the college programme? How does it all work? If accepted do u have to pay for flights etc. Just would like to know for future reference for my daughter.

Heyyyyyyyy!

Just arrived back home from my interview in Birmingham - boy am I tired. I left the house at 5.45am :scared1: (that's unheard of for a student :lmao:)

All in all, I think it went well, but I don't want to jinx it...

There were 2 recruiters there from Florida who were ace :) They get to travel the world recruiting for the international programs - what a job!!!:goodvibes
They started the morning with a presentation about the ICP - it sent shivers down my spine. I could easily have cried (tears of joy :)), but managed to restrain myself :rotfl: They also did a quick quiz thing - I got to answer one of the questions about DCL, and won a cute little pen :) It really made my morning!

I got to meet with Sarah's DD Taryn, and some other people who I had started chatting to on the net, and we had a nice chin wag over a spot of lunch :)

My interview was in the afternoon, and I got talking to a girl. We were then told that we were going to be interviewed together (as they interview in pairs), and then we realised that we were both wearing the same watch from WDW. And then we realised that we had both applied for the same dates. So who knows - meant to be Disney ICP buds?:goodvibes The interview went well I think; it was a nice chat about what we were studying, part time jobs, what roles we would prefer, and some "situational" questions such as how do you deal with difficult guests, how would you ensure safety on the attractions etc etc. My first choice role is a "Character attendant".

They said that they had given phone interviews to 4000 applicants. They then whittled this down to 450 people for the face to face interviews. I think they then said that there are around 300 places.

They said we'll hear by the end of this month - think I'll physically keep my fingers crossed until then :lmao:

Hi!

You apply for the international college program through a company called YummyJobs - they deal with international applications to Disney for a couple of different countries.

Here's the Disney website for the international progs: https://www.disneyinternationalprograms.com/ it also tells you how to apply through there.

You apply the year prior to the summer that you want to do the program. this year applications opened in June and closed in Oct - that's for summer 2011.

How does it work? It's basically an opportunity to work for WDW for up to 3 months. You live in an appartment with up to 7 other people from all over the world actually on Disney property. You pay rent weekly, but this automatically comes out of your weekly Disney paycheck.

You would do one role for the duration of your stay - these include character performers, lifeguards, character attendants, food and beverage, resorts, attractions and some others too. You get paid for working there obviously, but it's not very much. As one of the recruiters said today, the ICP is not going to be where you make your first million :lmao::rotfl:

You would work a minimum of 30 hours a week, and might end up working up to 55-60 hours a week.

You do have to pay out for quite a lot of things, but I think you go for the experience rather than for a job. Yes, you need to pay for return flights. You also need to pay a $100 administration fee to Disney if accepted, you need to pay for the appropriate visa, and also for medical insurance. you also need to take enough money for you first couple of weeks while your pay gets sorted.

Doing the ICP really looks like a chance of a lifetime though :goodvibes:goodvibes

ETA: I forgot to mention that you must be in university to apply to the program. I also think that you need to have completed your first year of uni before you go out there i.e. you can't do the programme the summer before you start your degree IYKWIM...
