Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa - **THE PERCH BAR NOW OPEN!!!**

I kinda think they’d have to be ready for some hopped-up-on-sugar kiddos (or boozed up adults) to either topple it or impale themselves 😂. Really looking forward to seeing the lobby on Wed!

ETA - hmmm. I don’t know. Maybe enough space??
In all seriousness they could remove a strip of the bar stools and the furniture behind the elevator. 🤔

So is it a given/are we assuming this is a 'real bar' where we can order an ad-hoc proper drink? The posted menu seems super limited (and not particularly interesting) to me.

See the wine menu? Never heard of any of those reds.

Agree I don’t think any of those would work for my group either.

Hopefully with Tea Room will have some good champagne.
I bet the cocktails are batched and the bar is very limited outside of beer/wine.

If any sazerac drinkers try the one from The Perch do report back. WDWNT thought it was awful and tasted like licorice (LOL). All Ears thought it might be among the best cocktails on property. I suspect the first team doesn’t drink sazeracs, but looking forward to some real world DISer reports!

Does this mean they aren't selling coffee in the morning? Some cast members thought this was going to include speciality lattes/espresso etc...

I read on Instagram that bartenders walk around the lobby and ask guests if they’d like a drink (similar to what they do at the pools.)

Having just come off the Wish, it seems silly that they can't just throw up one of the machines from the Cruise ships at the bar for the morning and espresso drinks throughout the day.
I think the Villas building used to give you free coffee? That has been downgraded to water now I believe...

Since I don't drink coffee, free sparkling water was a huge upgrade for me!

And I would point out there was always "free" coffee available in your villa...

Yes, there was a lovely Nespresso machine, which we looked forward to every morning. However, we were told they did away with it, due to the fact it was breaking so often. Yay, water! lol
