Oh wow - how did you get the birthday banner?!?

When I called the recreation line to book it on my 60 day, I told the CM I was celebrating my 40th on this trip when he was asking me about my trip. I had no idea they would put up a banner to be honest! A recreation CM brought balloons too, a little after I took those pictures



A super nice dad and his kids wished me happy birthday—the little guy was 6 and practicing his reading, which is why they waded over. We chatted for a bit and they are also from the tri state area. He was really sympathetic when I said my partner was supposed to come but couldn’t because of the border and said he felt bad that I was solo this time but like I always say, at Disney you are never alone, you just haven’t made friends yet! I was a little worried covid would make it harder to chat with folks but I’ve met some really friendly people.

In general, I have no idea why people find this resort stuffy or the people snooty. I have felt so at home here. Just now a couple of very important looking gentlemen in suits came by and asked whose birthday it was, wished me a happy one and thanked me for coming and celebrating here and told me if I had any questions or concerns to please let them know. I can only assume they were resort managers of some sort.

Thank you all so much for all of the help and encouragement!! It truly has been magical and just what i needed after such a horrible year. I really have fallen in love with the GF…nothing will displace my Poly as #1 in my heart but this is right up there! Gosh do I want to come back when CL is back for real!! And with my gf!!

BTW the surprise that my TA had waiting for me was a box of delicious fresh baked Mickey cookies from a local bakery in Winter Garden, Craft Cookie Co. She’s such a sweetheart.

This is what they gave me for the afternoon treat instead of the dessert tray…the CM gave me an allergy sheet on check in this morning and because there were tree nuts involved with 2 of them I opted to skip it just to be on the safe side. So the bakery made me this treat!

I am so glad you are enjoying the resort. We also can’t understand why people say its stuffy or snooty either. Every time we have stayed there, we have found all the CM’s to be friendly, helpful and kind. They all greet you when you are walking about and wish you a great day. We have met some really nice people staying there also. We are always chatting with people on the boat, at the bus stop. We met the nicest Mom and her daughter Sara this last trip. We were the only 4 on the 1st bus to AK and we got there to a empty park and walked to FOP together. What a charmer Sara was! The GF always feels like ’home’ to us.

I am impressed with the way they have treated you at the GF. What a great birthday surprise. I’m sorry that your partner couldn’t share it with you.

We really like the resort and the addition of the MK walkway has made it even better. The CMs have always been friendly to us.

It truly was amazing and I was so sorry to check out. Today was my switch to YC, at around 6 I called bell services and they sent a nice gent up to get my bags for me. I have been at AK all day.

Just for reference I had room 4208, so right above Gasparilla. The back elevator was so convenient! It was sad to see the lounge area and not get to use it, but I won’t hesitate to come back in the future when CL returns.

Well just booked my first stay at the Grand Floridian, June 2022 4 nights before my Disney Wish Cruise... SO EXCITED!!!!!! I booked Garden View cause it was the cheapest for now hopefully will get discounts before we go (MILITARY)... Would love to stay in Main Building....too...
