Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa + Construction Updates!! **LOBBY REFURB STARTED 4/14**

When you rent a Cabana, what does it include?

We have been doing more cruising lately and never thought to rent one in Disney. (pre-COVID that is)

Now mind you depending on the number of requests for Cabanas on their private islands one ocean front cabana can cost any where in the range from $499-$1000 depending on two things, 1. supply and demand like I mentioned. 2. Time of year.

It includes all the towels you would need, a cooler of water, electric outlets, floaties and a private butler to be a runner and get your alcohol drinks (You have to have paid for the drink package, this is not free).

So I saw in a preceeding post that the cabanas are somewhere in the neighborhood of $400????? That is not bad for 10-7.
On the private islands the cabana is limited to the time the ship docked (9-4pm usually).

Thank you ahead of time.

Woohoo I'll be there too!! We check in on the 30th we are moving from a GV room so we will be checking in early on the 30th... I'll see you in the lounge!
Awesome. I know we had dinner together at POLY with my ds but I am not sure you got to meet dd?

I think we will not rush to cr that day and linger at gf. Maybe do both appetizers. One at 5 then move to other lol.

I did meet your DD she was also at the Poly with us. Sounds like a good plan...we usually have breakfast at both lounges on moving day. :D I wouldn't be in a hurry to leave RPC either.

Got on line to book a main building room this morning and the prices knocked me for a loop.... guess I wont stay main building... what a bummer...:confused::oops::rolleyes:
Well, the prices BEFORE knocked me for a loop so they must be just stupid out of reach for ordinary humans now! I won't even call. I was excited to read about this but too bad it's even worse now.

I booked WL cl for MLK weekend. It was close to 1/2 price of RPC.

I was able to do rpc mainly because I had rack for poly my arrival night. I did get the GP discount so it wasn't too bad. However I will be stalking for discounts.

We dont even get our room cleaned at those prices either.

There were also 4 padded chairs in the cabana & a charging thingy for phones, etc. And there was a large round table in the middle.
The fruit platter was beautiful as well as delicious & the snack basket had a variety of chips, pretzels, Chex mix, etc. But the snack star by far was the dessert plate! It had chocolate covered strawberries & an assortment of lovely & decadent sweets!
Another nice touch was that a few fresh flowers were tucked into the towels & on the lounges. I loved everything about it! (Except for the fact that we didn’t get to use it much😄!)

Thank you for the additional details, I truly appreciate it!

Was the dessert tray there from the beginning or did they drop it off later in the day?

Also, is anyone else having trouble getting online check-in to work?

In my experience they bring the fruit tray in the AM and the desserts in the afternoon, although I’m sure experiences may vary.

I’ve seen several reports over the last month or so about problems w/ online check in, so it’s definitely not you. Make sure you’re using the private browser version of your browser, like Chrome Incognito. That’s the only way I can get certain Disney website functions to work for me.

I’ll just add there was what appeared to be a small Bluetooth speaker in the cabana as well.

Honestly feel like I never should have left GF, and not just because of the pixie dust I got. The surprise fireworks the other night and convenience to 2 parks have been nice but as far as the actual resort goes I’ve had some issues with YC. I check out today and no DME info was left for me last night.

Just back from a short-notice Memorial Day weekend stay at the GF. Booked an Outer Building Garden View Room and got a great one. Conch Key Room 7310. Conch Key is the building closest to Narcoosee's and the boat dock, and sits behind Sugar Loaf. As such, it's a little bit farther from the main lobby and Gasparilla's, but not by much. If you tend to boat back and forth from the MK, Conch Key is very well placed. I really liked the room views. Space Mountain and the Contemporary clearly visible looking left, Narcoosee's and the lake looking straight ahead, and the courtyard pool looking to the right. Great balcony view of the Electrical Water Pageant at night. Attaching some room view photos for those interested. 6.JPG7.JPG8.JPGElectrical Water Pageant.JPG
