Granted, it’s a very different story, well I guess the same but different is a better way to put it. It makes perfect sense to have changed it so there is no dialogue between the animals. We saw it on Tuesday (won tickets to a preview). I wasn't impressed. It was so far from the original movie that I was disappointed. Perhaps those unfamiliar with the original might like it.
I'm so over the "live action remakes" that Disney has been putting out.
Was that $3 off an oil change coupon in my mailbox from you? That was very thoughtful!First of all,Have you gotten my gift yet? Hopefully it didn’t get hung up in customs...
Secondly, I don’t think I can handle this movie. I’m still emotionally scarred from the original.

@ronandannette I'm sorry I missed your birthday but it sounds like you enjoyed it anyway. Not sure if I'll see the movie, I'm a die-hard Disney animation fan, the remakes are just sorta pointless to me.
Is it sad?
The original "Dumbo" was one of our older son's very favorite movies when he was little. And "Baby Mine" has been special between us - we'll probably dance to it at his wedding.
Well, he's a senior this year, & I'm just not sure I can handle a sad, bittersweet "Dumbo" - especially if he & I go together. Or, really, even I see it w/o him...
Right now, as I type, I'm looking at a Jim Shore "Dumbo" figurine he gave me for Mother's Day one year.
No, IMO it's not sad. Poignant, yes in parts, especially for the mom of a son. But the main story line of the original, which was the abuse Dumbo suffered at the hands of the people and other circus animals, is just a jumping-off point for this one. As has been mentioned several times, it's a very predictable story with a happy ending, so great for little kids (and tender-hearted mommas!).Is it sad?
