Anyone know how often/how possible it is to be upgraded to a tower room? Snaptravel has CSR available for $105 a night for my dates (2/1-2/13), which is incredible, but I really want to stay in GDT.

Anything is possible and upgrades do happen, although places like the DIS can sometimes make them "seem" more frequent than they really happen. No one ever comes on here and posts "checked in today, got the room I booked/paid for"..... but get an upgrade and there are people who immediately come here and post about it.

My general advice with Disney (or any hotel for that matter) is book the room you want and will be happy with. In the unlikely event you were to be upgraded (which more often than not is due to the operational needs of Disney, not them just being nice for no reason), then that's just a bonus.

(My unsolicited second piece of advice - pay up for GDT, but wow... $105 is an incredible rate) 8-):duck:

If we were hosting a meeting at that time or a convention, you could sneak in with that rate. :-) Our convention is in the beginning of December and anyone can book under our rate......helps with our room count. ;-)

Hey all! I did read on Facebook that nothing besides the Casitas area will be closed to the "regular" guests at CSR while NBA G-league is there.

So all food, bars, pools (except Casitas), bars, Tower, bars ;) will be open to guests! I think this will be minimal disruption.

Awesome, thanks!
We leave before they arrive, but only by a few days. I was worried certain restaurants or areas might be blocked off towards the end of our stay.

I wonder when I should expect another call from Disney.. *sigh... I hope things start to get back to some kind of normal soon.

I don't think they will call you. If you are in Casitas they will move you to Cabanas or if you are lucky, the Tower! Tower guests won't be moved at all.

This is true when we went back in October we booked for Cabanas (standard) but when we checked in they placed us in Casitas (preferred). It was great!
