Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Sorry I was away most of the afternoon/even. Here's more of the information I found "Disney has not released any statement to cause concern for Guests arriving in Disney World between January 26 through March 9, so it is likely that the events taking place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports will not impose any direct changes on Guests vacation — but things can always change at any moment, and details are yet to be announced. Inside the Magic will keep you posted as we get information. "

I am going to DW next month (yay!) and would like to eat dinner one evening at Three Rivers.

1. You can't make reservations for Three Rivers, only mobile orders. So, how do I get in through the gate if I want to sit down and eat at the restaurant?

2. I see there is seating, but no outside walls. If it's in the 60's, would it be too cold to eat there comfortably?

Just heard, cause we have a board meeting at CSR March 6th, that the NBA will all be in Casitas buildings. We have to move our Suite there to the Tower Presidential Suite. The rest of our rooms are now in Buildings 8 & 9, Cabanas. Haven't heard if they'll be taking over restaurants, bars etc, but I'm going to dig deeper.

Wow.

Why on earth would they displace guests that are already booked in the Casitas? Why not house the NBA players at Cabanas or I don't know, Port Orleans?

And where is everyone to supposed to eat? How are they going to make sure no one penetrates or leaves "the bubble"... :D

Ugh, seriously, literally got moved there a few weeks ago because Asmo wasn't opening. Now what? I guess I wait for another call from Disney? :crazy2:

The room guaranteed to us was the large suite in Casitas 1, just for our meeting. The other rooms booked were either Tower or non-Tower, not specified which Blg exactly. Since the Tower Presidential Suite is set up better for 'social distancing" meeting, I'm kind of happy with the move. Plus building 9 is right next to Tower. I just hope they don't rain on my bar time. ha!

Technically if it's a true bubble, the players can't go anywhere near the guest areas.

I certainly hope Disney isn't going to restrict the Tower and non-Tower guests from using the amenities in the Tower. Or Three Bridges/Rix/Whatever else is open.

I think all other guests outside of NBA will be in Ranchos and Cabanas buildings. As far as I've heard, there's still enough room since they only had Casitas open anyway.

Agree! We normally due Rix for lunch and cocktails at Three Bridges before dinner.......

When I hear more about restaurants etc from my Disney contact I'll update, unless someone finds out before me.

OH MY GOSH SAME!!!! We were originally offered AoA Nemo (1st call, from Disney) that I wasn't excited about because the Big Blue Pool is going to be closed. I talked to my SIL, and when I called Disney back (2nd call) they put us as CSR with a water view room. And I dropped 2 nights because I had made a back-up booking for the weekend at CBR (where SIL really wanted to stay.) UUUUUUUGH.

Just made reservations at Rix for lunch on March 6th for 12 people. I don't think the NBA is going to take over the bars/restaurants, but I've been wrong before. Hopefully it doesn't disrupt ya'll too much. Ours is more of a meeting in lieu of vacation, so it's not really going to mess us up to bad.....I hope. :-)

I see what your saying, but I have a Casita ressie right now, really don't want to worry about being moved to Ranchos or Cabanas and to be honest I would rather them put me in AoA or Pop then to have to worry about NBA players, jmo

My reservation just says standard room. I don't know what building/section we are in. I would prefer not to be in Ranchos due to walking with the little grandkids. I thought Cabanas 9A and 9B were destroyed to make room for the Tower? We would always stay in 9B and love the Cabanas area. Is there an updated property map anywhere showing the buildings?

At 3 Bridges, if you want to sit down and eat, you need to put your name on the waiting list if there aren’t open seats. Mobile order is for taking it back to your room, or somewhere else.
It is all open air, so yes, could be chilly if it’s lower temps. I can’t remember if they have ceiling heaters, but it’s still very open.

I thought that building 9B was the Cabanas building where they had the “ Business Club” rooms and the building was torn down to make way for GDT

We were there last week and had drinks and dessert at Three Rivers. The temps were in the 50’s and they had multiple patio heaters working, we just kept our light jackets on and were very comfortable.

Thank you! That's what I wanted to know; if they had some sort of heaters.

I booked a standard room 2/28-3/6 and requested Cassitas 4 or 5 to be near 1st bus stop. Definitely don’t want Ranchero or Cabanas....so I guess I will be canceling.
