Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Our stay is in 2 ½ weeks!

Thinking about putting in a room request by building. We have a standard room and don’t want to upgrade because we’d lose our free dining. We don’t plan on using the restaurants much – it’s a short trip and we’re planning to maximize park time. But we do anticipate taking a break in the afternoon a couple of days, so being close to the Dig Zone would be nice. And actually having easy access to the restaurants in the morning for coffee/mug refills would be nice too. Most importantly, we want to be close to the bus stop as we have a few early mornings and don’t want to be schlepping every morning or risk the bus being filled before it even gets to us.

SO I think we’ve narrowed it down to :

Building 9A – We could use the 1st/Centro bus stop without TOO much of a walk, and we’d have to walk by restaurants on the way each morning, so easy for us to get some coffee/tea in mugs. Not too far from dig zone.

Building 4 – Very close to the 2nd bus stop, but farther from the dig site and restaurants (so probably no mug refills in morning).

What would you do?

I would choose Cabanas 8A. Really close to DigSite, mug refills (at DigSite) and bus stop. The bus stop at El Centro was packed in the morning. There were times that the people at the bus stop there, were unable to get on the bus because the bus was too crowded.

I have not received a email yet either and I arrive Nov. 15th. But I booked thru my WALT DISNEY TRAVEL AGENT. Maybe that has something to do with it? Weird they send me the emails for everything else.

I always book right through the WDW website.

My guess is they notify the travel agents and expect them to notify their clients. It is also possible this is just one of those random Disney things that no one knows the reason why some get notified and others dont....LOL.

The notice is right on the website now as was posted previously.

What time does the dig site open for mug refills? I'm assuming not early AM. If you wanted, say a 7am coffee, you would have to walk to Cafe Rix or Pepper Market, right?

I have two questions... 1st: Should I check in through Disney's website or wait? 2nd: I see that CSR is going through rehab of it's buildings. What are the chances that I wouldn't get my water view room?

No one knows the answer to that.

1. I personally like to check in person. That's just me. I like getting greeted by John in the lobby and the "welcome home" at check in.

2. I think if you book waterview, you will get waterview. Buildings will close one at a time during the rehab so that leaves many other waterview rooms available.

No. The robes are not terry cloth. They are thin and remind me of sear sucker material, although it's not sear sucker. No logo on them.

Is there anyone at Coronado Springs who can quickly verify something with the reception for me? Just called earlier to ask about sending a package in advance, expecting a fee because it's a convention centre, but was told there no fees but they will only hold 10 days? Is this a new policy? Thanks!

Do the moderate resorts provide towels at the pool or do you have to bring them from the room like the values?

If you plan to go to the park right after check in and using DME, I would check in online. It saved so much time and they texted me when the room was ready.
