OK I am really getting obsessed!
Does anyone have a room numbered floor plan of the CR?

What room numbers are closet to the elevators? to Chef Mickey? what room numbers are on the MK side?

In other words, how can you know if you got a MK view, quiet room etc... when you are at the desk checking in, before you go up to the room?

Here's a website that might answer some of your questions about the layout of the CR:

www.kingdom-travel.com

When you get to the website, scroll down about halfway until you get to Deluxe Resorts, then click on Contemporary Resort. Then scroll down almost to the end of the page, and you'll see a miniature map of the resort. Just click on the map, and it will show you the room-numbering system (you'll need AdobeAcrobat in order to load the image).

Hope this helps!

:cheer2: THANK YOU!!!! :cheer2:
This is exactly what I needed! I printed it and tucked it away in my 10" thick folder that I am building for our trip. Now I can relate to all of the wonderful DISers stories that include a room number and I can see what they are talking about. I feel so knowledgeable now. ::yes::

My planning folder isn't quite 10" thick (yet!), but I'm a bit of a planning addict myself (Hello; my name is disneyworldgirl, and I'm a planaholic). My DB laughs at me and kinda rolls his eyes when I start talking about the latest info I got from the DISboards; but as I've reminded him, knowledge is power (as in the power to choose the right hotel, eat at the best restaurants, and save money.)!

I have read the last few pages of this thread and I am a bit confused. I know they are working on the South Wing -- but have they started the North Wing renovations yet? Are they going to work on the North Wing at the same time as the Tower? We are going in January and I would love to stay in the North Wing in a renovated room. Anyone have any information???? Thanks.

From what I gather, the north wing has had renovations more in the line of "fixing up", rather than true renovations. JMHO, but I think they are rehabing the South wing rooms first, then the tower, then the north. Since it is a slow process and could take close to 2 years to totally finish, they just "spiffed" the North up.

Again, just my 2cents. I guess we need the viewpoint of someone who has actually stayed in a north room very recently.

gotta love that power! esp when you are eating when and where you want or breezing thru the crowds with your FP and touring plan in hand and smiling, happy, well rested children in tow. It just makes everyone's vacation a little bit better.

I want a MK view tower room but my DB needs a wing and is counting on me for the best recommendation. They will have a stoller and a baby.

I think I will tell him to req a North, 1st floor, Std. to possibly get a view of MK, close to the walkway/tower and have a pattio.

Or - req a North, 1st floor, Garden view. to be near the playground and have a pattio

am I asking for the correct reqests for the locations?
Thanks!!

Does the 12th Floor Concierge lounge have a television?

Thanks!

Hi again - TRIPLEFIGS- It did not have a television when we were there, however, who knows with the remodel?? Maybe that is something they would add.

When we were there they just had a sitting area with a few comfy chairs and some tables and chairs and a lovely counter, buffet area. This was all set up in the large, lobby like area near the elevators.

Hmmm....why are you asking this??? :rotfl2: Just kidding! Are you staying some nights here before GF??

Man, I can't go anywhere without being caught! ;) Actually, with SL going full service, I was trying to see if SL was the only Concierge service left without a TV (hoping they add one to the lobby). Now the 12th floor is the only "light" concierge left. I'm wondering if they will now upgrade the 12th floor as well to full service with the remodel?

We just returned the other day and here's what we saw and heard:
1. there was an entire floor (castle side and lagoon side) walled off for renovatining (10th floor? not exactly sure, but it looked to be)
2. when riding the ferry from MK to WL, we saw these huge drop cloths hanging out of the 3rd floor SOUTH wing cover the the balcony and 2nd floor. When I pointed it out to DH, one of the ferry boat "skippers" said, "oh yeah, they're turning those rooms into DVC!!!" He was totally serious. We said, you sure? and he said that's what Disney told him and he added that he wasn't told he couldn't tell anyone!! :flower:

What type of bedding do they have in the HA rooms--one king, or two queens? Many HA rooms have just a king, making it easier for a wheelchair to manuver around, but its not enough bedding for my family of four.

I was put in a HA Room for a night before I upgraded to a tower last week, and there were 2 queen beds in the room.

Hi, does anyone know when the remodeling will start on the 4th floor? My guess is that they will complete the new Concourse Steakhouse before shutting down the old one. Are they going to change anything else?

I am getting a little nervous! We are going to be there from 10/3 to 10/6, is this when they are renovating? We have a tower room booked. I am starting to think with all the reconstruction,we should with resorts.
Anyone else nervous???

I am there the exact same time.. except three days longer.. and im wondering the same thing myself. My fiance loves the CR.. so i don't think we will switch.. but im getting concerned.

Hi everyone! I am thinking about a Christmas trip and stay at the CR (my kids' all time favorite resort). I want to book Tower Concierge, but only if the rehab is completed by our check in December 18, 2005. ANYONE know if they have or will have completed the tower club floor by then??? I heard that it would be on the 10th floor and called the Atrium Club. Is this true???

I went back and checked a few pages, but didn't get any info regarding this - sorry if I should have gone back more. :)

I love the CR, but I don't want to stay there again until I can stay in a NEW room - nothing against the old, but for a Christmas stay, I want it to be great!

THANKS for any info!!

We're staying on the 10th floor concierge during the last week of September. We had made ressies for the 12th floor, but Disney sent us a letter informing us that we were being moved to the new Atrium club on the 10th. It would be logical to assume that they'll be finished with the 10th floor by then, and certainly by the time you're going. Hope this helps........

Bobbysdog - THANKS for the info! I am thinking about booking that new way online with the AP rate and it is a nonrefundable one nights deposit. I need all the info I can get before I make this decision. Did they mention if the new Atrium Club on the 10th floor is full service concierge or is it still light??

THANKS so much for ANY and ALL info!!!

Lives4Disney :earsgirl:

It's concierge light.

(Does this mean that's it's all the great service of concierge, but only half the calories? :cool1: )

We know that work on the 10th floor is going on as we speak; we're hoping it'll be completed by the time we go. There was some speculation as to whether or not they're building a permanent 10th floor concierge or if they're just moving it while the 12th floor is being worked on, but again, it's just speculation at this point. Hope this helps!

Bobbysdog - THANKS!!

THAT would be WONDERFUL considering I could eat a dozen of the Krispie Kreme donuts they serve for Bfast!! (Before anybody gets mad that I am a concierge food hog - I COULD, but I DONT!!! :) )

I heard that they were going change the light to full concierge service on the "club" floor. Does anyone know about this?? I read it on the DIS, but I am not sure when this will take place.

I want the full concierge service and a remodeled room for my Christmas 2005 stay. Maybe that won't happen.....

I don't want 14th floor as I have a family of 5 and we tried a MK suite last Thanksgiving and it wasn't so great.

THANKS - ANY more info on the TOWER CLUB changes??
