I just made a ressie on Fri. for Oct 6-8 in a GV room! :cool1: Nothing was said about the rehab! Do you think they will be finished sooner than 10-31??

Hey guys... quick question... does anyone know or have room layout for 1 BR Jr. suite? Where is it, in the tower or wing? Also, can it sleep 6, 4 adults 1 kid and 1 preschooler?

Thanks!

not sure if this is the one bedroom junior suite but there are a few floor plan layouts on this site. http://www.wdwnow.com/Room_Floor.asp? Good Luck!!

does anyone know if you can get a King bed in the Tower with a MK view?

I don't want 12 or 14th floors, just the Tower. Is that possible? I don't want to request something that is not available.

Thanks!

Isn't there somewhere you can go watch the fireworks after you are done eating at Chef Mickey's?
Thanks

On the 4th floor past where the stores are there is a large balcony you can go out on to watch them.

Correct, the kids club closed around last Oct. (I wonder if was due to the renovations.) There are kids clubs at WL, GF, and the Poly.
My sons used to go to the kids club in CR, but when they closed it, they went to the one at the Poly in January. A lady working there, used to work at the CR, and she told them that it would reopen, they were going to make it larger.

That makes perfect sense! The CA Grill is a fav for the adults to have a nice quiet dinner. It was so easy to "tuck" the kiddo's away in the kids club for a couple of hours. ;)

Sorry I have a silly question, On my confirmation our room is listed as Garden Wing -- what exactly does that mean? Is that a standard parking lot view room?

Thanks!

We stayed in a Jr. Suite last year and it's basically one large room and not a 1 bedroom. I seem to remember CRO mentioning something about a 4 person max but I'm not positive. They are located in both of the wings but not in the tower. I think that they're approx. 500-600 sq.ft. Hope this helps :)

No, the standard's are the rooms closest to the tower, overlook parking lot. The garden rooms are the rooms in the middle, not sure exactly how far down. We had a garden view. It was very nice.

I'm thinking of switching our resort from CBR to CR on our next trip. We'd have to go with a wing, standard. If I request the north wing, standard view will I be close to the Food & Fun Center and monorail? Also, I know that's a parking lot view on one side, is there a view of anything on the other side? On the parking lot side can you see anything else, tree's or maybe a monorail? TIA

Personally, I think the North Wing standard are amoung the best "deals" of all the deluxe resorts. The price is great for a deluxe, the rooms and bathrooms are huge. These rooms are closest to the bus stop, even more so than the tower. Yes, you're going to overlook a parking lot, but you'll also have somewhat a view of the MK. Even the tower rooms overlook the parking lot. ;) If I wanted to stay at the CR & couldn't "spring" for a tower room, I'd book a standard and ask for the north wing.

Just as a note the north wing is so close to MK its right across the road from the bus drop off from the other hotels. I would have choosen that for this stay but we never stayed in the tower so were going for it this year.

Thanks Kimberle and abline.
I have another question, is there a common area with a view of the Magic Kingdom and/or Bay Lake?

Hello all. I'm a DIS newbie, but I'm definitely not a Disney newbie. I have never stayed at the Contemporary. Until September! :cool1: My 2 best friends and I have a standard garden wing room booked for 6 nights for my 24th birthday. I have a couple of questions.

1. What are the odds that we will get a renovated room? Some of the reviews I've read about the resort's current state are worrying me. If they're slim to none, what kind of condition should I expect my room to be in?

2. I didn't specify a wing when I booked the trip. Is there any chance of still getting a decent view that isn't mainly parking lot?

3. How difficult is it to get reservations at Chef Mickeys or the Steakhouse once I get there?

4. How difficult is transportation to the non-monorail areas of WDW (MGM, Downtown Disney, etc)?

5. What are the workout facilities like?

I would appreciate any help you guys could give me! I'm really looking forward to September!

MLBelle41 - We stayed at the CR in May. We had a gardenview in the North Wing (room 7104). We loved the CR and I'm sure you will too.

1. Probably 50 -50. They just started the North Wing when we were there.

2. Call the CRO and make a room request for the North Wing. Is anyone in your party handicapped or asthmatic? If so you can request and will probably get something near the main building (we did). You will here alot of info about faxing your requests. DO IT! I contacted the CR staff and they told me they still honor fax requests.

3. Make your rreservations as early as possible. If you don't use them you can always cancel. Are you on the meal plan? If you are than definitely eat at the Concourse Steakhouse. It was the best value for us on the meal plan.

4. When we were there it was terrific! We waited 20 minutes 1 time. It is more difficult getting back from trhe parks though. The CR is usually the last stop for most buses. Sometimes we took anything going to the MK and just walked back to the CR. It was easy.

5. I didn;t use them and I didn't see anyone else using them but they looked new.

Have fun. I wish I were you going in September.....

Thanks for the help, BigCrit. I'm going to get right on making sure I get into North Wing, or maybe I'll upgrade to Tower. I really want a balcony! Yes, I am on the dining plan, which is a really fantastic idea for grad students on a budget like me, and I definitely won't wait until I get there before I make a reservation for the Steakhouse. One last question: How loud is the monorail, really? Can you hear it from the wings?

I'm so excited! Just 3 months and 3 days :Pinkbounc :earsgirl:
