How much should you tip Mousekeeping?

I don't know that you should and a lot of folks say that you shouldn't. That being said, I usually tip a dollar per person per day. This last trip I left extra on the last day since the service had been superior.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the information here.

We are leaving in 2 hours for our trip of a lifetime, staying 6 nights at the CR:cool1: :cool1:

I still have one little surprise for my kids, they think we are staying at one of the all star resorts, they have begged to stay at the CR, but we just keep telling them that it way to expensive especially with our flights from Sydney :rolleyes1 so I can't wait to see their faces when we arrive:yay:

I will be sure to post when I get home, although that won't be till the end of January because we are then heading to Canada to ski for 2 weeks:woohoo:

Thanks again

We did the same thing in August, couldn't keep the trip from the kids, but they thought we were going to stay in the ASMu, they didn't realize until they saw the signs for All Stars and we didn't get off at that exit.

Was a little easier since we drove and didn't have the ME at the airport ask which resort.

Have a great time and be sure to tell us how everything went when you get home.

Hello board, this is my first post.
I am coming into Disney in 6 weeks for my Sister in laws wedding. The wedding and reception are taking place at the Contemporary, and our entire family is staying here as well.
My question is, how would I go about assuring that my in laws room is in the same "general" location as ours? My wife would like to be near her parents for the vacation.

P.S.: I know this is not the correct location for this question, but I will ask anyway. What is the easiest way to getting bridesmaid dress and tux into Disney, without carrying it onto the plane?

Thank You

You might want to send a Private Message to SRUAlmn. She got married this summer at WDW, had her reception at California Grill, and stayed in the Garden Wing with her family at the CR. She had trouble getting everyone together in the same area, if I remember correctly. She'd be a great resource. I'd also check out the Disney Weddings and Honeymoons board here and post your questions. I'm sure you'd get a lot of help there. Good luck and congrats!

Hello all! Just had a quick question and I know theres a thread on this just last week and I can not find it.:confused3 I'm a little confused w/the category of Garden Wing rooms - standard view & garden view. Does anyone know what standard view would be? I'm thinking parking lot. What we would like is to have a Garden Wing room near the pool & marina, does anyone know if this would be a garden view or a standard view? Might just book the garden view and call it good but it would $350 more which is doable. If anyone has any other suggestions for a room location for a family of 5 w/3 children (ages 3-9) I'm open to them. I know the tower is closer to the monorail & restaurants but I don't think we can swing it.

Is the garden wing that far away from restaurants, etc? I know these questions have been asked before and I appreciate your patience.

Joanne

In the garden wing, standard view could be a view of the parking lot (and monorail line). Garden view is something else, the grounds or bay.

The garden wing is a large building so it can be a walk to and from your room but not always. It depends on where the room is. We were in the room that is farthest from the monorail and restaurants but it wasn't a problem for us. It was at most 5 minutes. We even walked to and from the MK as well.

You can go to google maps or windows live to see a satellite view of the south garden wing. These show both wings but the north wing has been demolished.

Thanks for the info - I printed off the resort map and I'll go onto google maps as well. Sounds like the garden view would be what we want. :)

If the view is important to you, you book the garden view. I never care that much about the view as I'm more interested in doing the parks. I always reserve the "standard view" so I can be in the hotel I want. This time, I was apparently upgraded to a bay view and got lucky. (Going in value season probably helped.) I wouldn't count on being upgraded, however, which is why it is important to book the room you want.

True. I was just thinking how often we enjoyed our view from our room at the Poly-we had a patio. Every morning we did check for the ducks and to see if it was raining but I think DS8 and I sat on the patio once during our stay. So all in all we didn't really utilize our view much so I guess it could go either way. I'll see what DH thinks. As long as the standard view has some landscaping I'm fine. I emailed DU and we could book now if we wanted for May 2009 (well up to the 19th anyway) - yikes! I think we'll wait until at least a year out still not sure on CR. ADMu suites is our next choice.
Thanks again.

I took a few pictures of decorations around the resort.

As well as the decorating that I did on our room as a surprise for my wife. She got to the room about 5 hours after I did.

What wonderful pictures!!:thumbsup2

As I have said before last month when I went to visit the Contemporary the only part of the lobby that was being renovated was the area where they temporally had the lobby Concierge desk. So I was wondering for anyone who was just there or might be there now, has that area been completed or are they still working on it?

My first time in CR and very excited to stay there.
Does anyone have a listing of all the food available in the atruim level and what times food are served. I hoping someone has a list like in the Grand Floridian forum.
Thanks
