I started to read through the posts for this answer, but gave up.
What type of transportation goes to the different parks from CR.
Also, about how long does it take on average to get to the different parks?
Thanks!

It's fairly easy to get to MK & Epcot - monorail, you can also walk to the MK, about five minutes.

The bus situation is a different story. The CR shares buses with the other MK resorts for transport to AK & Studios. I was there about two weeks ago and the bus to the Studios took about 45 minutes, it stopped at the Poly & Grand Flo. before heading over to the Studios.

Merry Christmas, Contemporary fans!

Here are some pics of the room from our recent (Dec. 7-16) trip:

Hey everyone I am finally back and thought I tell you my family and I switched our August reservation from Sugar Loaf at the Grand Floridian, to the Atrium Club at the Contemporary from the 18 - 30. I just wanted to say this move had nothing to do with the Grand Floridian, we just realized that we missed the Contemporary so it's a personal choice and I am happy that there was a room up there, since it was booked for all the other weeks in August that we thought about going.

Also as of right now the only construction inside is taking place in the lobby that the guests can see is where they temporally had the Concierge desk.

We did have a magical time at the Poly, however looking out every night at the Contemporary and visiting there made me realize how I missed staying there.

....we stayed at the Poly only one night instead of 4 ( it is indeed a beautiful Resort) .....had to switch over to our "home away from home" because we missed it soooo much!!! It's a CRIME what that darn CR view does to one's heart!!!!
Will I be changing our reservations???? Stay tuned!! :thumbsup2

Subscribing ... we're considering Contemporary for a stay next December. I never thought I would like this resort, I don't know what's come over me.

Well, we got back Sunday night from 2 nights at CR and 2 at AKL. I enjoyed the stay at CR more than AKL, but still haven't decided which resort is my favorite. Probably WL, just more homey. I loved the size of the rooms and the view of the MK was incredible. We were in room 4445 on the 8th floor.

My 2 complaints were that CRO didn't book the right room (HA roll-in shower) and housekeeping. When we changed our ressie to CR, I requested the roll-in shower and CRO called Special requests and said that is what they asked for and it was all set, but I find out the day before we leave that request was never made for CR or AKL, so we had to settle for a regualr room with a tub seat which made it hard for mom, and Special Requests pretty much called me a liar and said I never made the requests, from now on I will call a hundred times to make sure they have my request corect and I will call Special requests office directly. I called very early one morning and asked if we could get housekeeping to clean our room early because mom would need to come back to rest, I was told no problem, housekeeping hasn't started yet, but the request would be made. Now that was about 7:15am, when we returned to the room about 1:00pm it hadn't been touched, I was furious, so that messed up everything, but this also happened at AKL a few days later. If it happens again in April/May, I am going to have to take action. My mom has to come back for a rest at certain times and I think 5 to 6 hours is plenty of time to get to our room.

Other than those 2 problems at both resorts, we had a great time, We had plenty of room at CR, but were cramped at AKL. I don't know if either is worth that much money again, maybe CR garden wing. We heard no noise from the construction or the stores or Chef Mickey's, but our room was at the opposite end of the hotel from Chef Mickey's. There was some construction going on in the lobby late one evening, but unless you were standing right there, you couldn't hear it. Loved access to the monorail. DH and I received a Chocolate box of chocolates and balloons for our Anniversary, they were wonderful.

I hope I can post some pictures in the next couple of days.

I never thought I would like it either, and it is one of my favorites. i went for the first time last March. I am going back in 3 days. I avoided going for years ( my family had always wanted to go). I am so glad I did, it is wonderful. I love being in the tower rooms, the views can't be beat.

Just back from a stay at CR, 7th floor MK view! Loved the room! The only complaint was the air conditioner works on a motion senser. We all woke up at 3 am HOT!! We'd take turns jumping up to make the air come back on! Eventually we opened to door to the balcony just to get a little relief!

We go Feb 2nd. Just wondering how they will handle the fact there is nowhere to use the refillable mugs (part of the Deluxe pkg) at the CR. I'd love to hear 1st hand reports!

When you book at the CR, can you put in for what floor you might want to be on? I know that we want the MK side but is there really one floor that is better that the next? (besides concierge, LOL).

All you can do is make a request for the 11th floor and hope for all the best, since it's only a request. However my family and I have had Magic Kingdom views as low as the 6th floor and as high as the 14th floor and personally we don't see a difference since it's the same view.

Another shot of the view from our 12th floor balcony, a "zoomed" view of the Wilderness Lodge, Epcot and Swan/Dolphin.
