We just made the decision to go around Easter!:cool1: Crazy I know but we are all missing it like crazy and don't want the kids to miss school so we will bite the bullet and go when it is crowded. We are all prepared and excited no matter what. Anyhow.. Here is the question. I booked CR tower with theme park view. That does mean MK right? I mean is there anything else that could mean? Thanks for your help!

That's EXACTLY what it means! You get to look at the castle.:wizard: :cloud9: And the Theme Park view rooms views are all about the same...no matter what floor you're on. I'm leaving for that same view in 2 weeks.:yay:

There are pictures on p. 222 of this thread.

These are zoomed pictures taken from our room in Aug. '06. At night the castle is :cloud9: .

Hi everyone! I have been combing this thread for days and have decided to finally ask for help. Our family of four DH, DS17 and DS13 will be checking in to the Contemporary in early June. We have a garden wing room reserved for 4 nights. I was hoping that someone could point me in the direction of some pictures of the rooms in the garden wing. We stayed in the tower several years ago, before the renovations so we are excited to see the changes!:)

I just have a quick atrium CL question. Can you request a MK view? I know nothing is guaranteed but was just curious? We will being staying CR for the first time for my little guys 3rd birthday and I thought it would be so cool if he could see the castle. Thanks

Are you referring to the Atrium Club Level or Tower Club Level? With the Atrium Club you can request a Magic Kingdom view room and it's the same for the standard rooms on the Tower Club Level. I assume your not staying in a suite on the Tower Club Level because those are the only Club Level rooms where you make a reservation for the Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake view.

Since the rooms in the Garden Wing look exactly like the one in the Tower, here is a link to pictures of the renovated rooms. I could not find any that show the view from the Garden Wing, so hopefully someone else can post those type of pictures. http://www.wdwinfo.com/photos/contemporary/room/index.htm

No we are not staying in a suite. This trip was spur of the moment. We have never stayed at the CR and the 2 different clus levels confuse me. This may sound silly but how can tell from the reservation which club level it is???

could someone talk about their stay in a garden wing? How far is it from the main building? Do you feel like you're missing out by not staying in the tower? How far is it to walk to the monorail? Also, can you watch the MK fireworks from the beach or elsewhere on the property?

You would either make a reservation for the Atrium Club which is on the 12th floor, or the Tower Club which is on the 14th floor. Basically the Atrium Club is all standard rooms and the Tower Club has 16 rooms, with only 5 standard rooms. So that means the other rooms on the Tower Club are 1 & 2 Bedroom Suites, a Vice Presidential Suite and a Presidential Suite. Plus the standard rooms on the Tower Club are more expensive then the standard rooms on the Atrium Club. The only way to know which Club Level floor you have selected is to look at your confirmation and it will tell you.

Besides all that both floors sereve the exact same breakfast, afternoon snacks, 5:00 PM hot foods and 8:00 PM deserts.

Even though I have not stayed in a South Garden Wing room, I have walked from there to the Tower just to see for myself how long it is and I found it was no more then a 5 minute or less walk. The only difference to staying there compared to the Tower would be looking down on the 4th floor and seeing everything that goes on, so that could also be a good thing since it would be a lot more quiet to relax. One thing I can say for sure is the rooms in the South Garden Wing were renovated just like the rooms in the Tower. As for the walk to the Monorail it's about the same walk to the Tower, with the difference being you need to get up to the 4th floor and to the Monorail station. I think some people have said they have seen the fireworks from the boat dock which is past the pool and I know for sure you can watch the fireworks from the 4th floor observation deck.

The south wing was perfectly wonderful when we stayed there last month. It is only about a 3 to 5 minute walk to the tower depending on where in the wing your room is located. I didn't try to see the fireworks from the beach. The view of the MK fireworks from the 4th floor observation deck (behind the new gift store) was spectaular. If you want water in front of you, the GF boat dock is a good place for it. People also talk about the Poly beach as well. By staying at the CR these are easily accessible locations on the monorail.

We had full access to the tower and don't feel that we missed out on anything by staying the garden wing. Would I enjoy the tower, yes, but given the choice of staying at CR or not, the garden wing was a perfectly acceptable location.

can anyone recall any page numbers within this thread that have a lot of pictures of the contemporary, whether it be inside the rooms, or outside by the pool area and such? I've been looking through slowly, but there are so many pages!

I looked through the thread and couldn't find an answer -- forgive me if this has been asked already -- does anyone know when the renovations at the CR will be done? I'm wondering specifically about the changeover of Concourse Steakhouse to the new quick food service area ....

TIA! :)

As of right now all the renovations on the 4th floor have temporally stopped and when I went to visit there last month the lobby was about 99% finished, with the expection of the area where the Contemporary Grounds use to be. Right now that area should be finished however no one has posted anything to confirm that. Besides that they are working on turning the Food & Fun Center into the Wave which is to be the new restaurant, however that area is covered up and no one can see or hear the renovating as it is happening. Renovations to the 4th floor will once again start on May 10th, 2008 since that is the closing date for the Concourse Steakhouse, so that location can be turned into Chef Mickey's Express which would be the new counter service location. Someone posted on here that Chef Mickey's Express will open on August 14th, 2008 however that has not been confirmed. No matter what once Chef Mickey's Express does open that will be the end of all renovations inside the Tower building.
