We stayed at the CR in April in the tower and had a blast. My sister and her family are going in December and are staying in a wing. I was wondering if they park in the main parking area or is there parking by the wings also. I was trying to figure out it they have bellmen over there to help with the luggage or are they responsible for unloading their things. Any info. would be appreciated.

blessedby3,
The bellmen will help with the luggage--they can just pull up front of the CR to off load and then if they choose to self-park they can park their vehicle over in the North Wing parking lot.

Would also like to know if there are Elevators in the North Garden Wing. My husband is disabled (Retired USAF) and it's a must.
Thanks!
LADYnTRAMP,
They do have elevators in the North Wing, but they are very slow. A first floor room might work out better, if it is available.

Our family will be staying at the CR in October. Do we need reservations for meals at Chef Mickey? Seems like they should honor guests of the resort but I'm not sure. We'd really hate making reservations for breakfast - who knows what time we'll be ready to walk out the door!

PaintedStuff,
I don't believe they give you any priority to CR resort guests (unless you make a PS).

We generally eat breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse in the morning (my favorite breakfast item is a Sticky Mickey served hot out of the oven-yum! :) ). Most of the times that we were there (7:30am- 8:00am) , there really wasn't a big crowd waiting to be seated. But, we did arrive at 9:00am one morning and had to wait 20mins to be seated. The trouble is--without a PS, you take a chance at having to wait to be seated. If you get seated right away, they serve breakfast pretty quickly at the Concourse Steakhouse.
Even though Chef Mickey's was right next door to the Concourse Steakhouse, I couldn't tell you if they had a crowd waiting to be seated every morning
Are you planning to have a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's each morning?

I'm so freaked out - I called WDW to make PS reservations for two of our three nights and the restaurants (Chef Mickey and Liberty Tree Tavern) are completely booked. As we are a party of 5 adults and 2 kids I can't imagine being able to just walk up to the hostess on any given night and getting a table - even if we have to wait a bit. What do you think? I'd chance it even if we had a 45 minute wait - easy enough in the hotel where we are staying.

in order to be guaranteed a first-floor room at the CR through Shades of Green, there is an extra $10 charge. I would call and speak to them about your needs ASAP.

PaintedStuff,
I suppose you could plan to go without ressies--I'm not real sure of your dates, but I was thinking if it is on a night the MNSSHP is offered, you might have a bit of a wait. I don't think I would want to chance it without a ressie somewhere...I can recall being in a bind one year before MVMCP with no ressies--we ended up waiting for quite a while..

We have tickets for the MNSSHP Thursday night. Thought I'd TRY to get downstairs from our rooms at 5 to see if i could get us a table - if not - we'll eat something on the fly at the MK. Not having a special dinner the night of the halloween party is fine - we'll have great time at the MK. But I would like to enjoy at least one meal with the kids (young and old) at Chef Mickey's.

We are leaving Saturday and I have a few last minute questions..yes, I am so excited I can barely stand it !

Are there hairdryers in the tower rooms?

What are the hours of the pool/spa?

Is Food & Fun Center open 24 hours..or from 6am-midnight?

Thanks!

there are hairdryers in the Tower rooms. Can't remember the answers to your other questions, but I'm sure someone else here can:D Have a great time:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

That's one of the greastest things about the Contemporary. How around the clock things stay open. I do believe that they stop cooking hot food though at 11 p.m. Have a safe, great trip!!

just a few quick cr questions :)

I am staying on the 14th floor just wondering it anyone has stayed there recently? I have found a few reviews from a while back on the board... Would you be able to tell me what they cons. had out for lunch or dinner?

Are there irons in the room, or do I have to order them form housekeeping?

thanks in advance :)

princess:

Not sure about the 14th floor (maybe someday:D ) , but all the CR rooms I have stayed in have had irons.

Glad to find this thread. Thinking about spending a few night there the end of Jan. I hope to find some useful info

We are thinking of staying at CR in May. I know about Chef Mickey's, But someone mentioned Concourse Steakhouse for breakfast.

Is that inside the Contemporary? And what is a sticky mickey that they mentioned? Sounds good to me. Thanks in advance.

The Concourse Steakhouse is right next to Chef Mickeys inside the Contemporary.

Sticky Mickeys are huge cin. rolls... We have a trip in about a week from now and I am trying to figure out a way to include the Concourse Steakhouse on my itinerary to get some more Sticky Mickeys for breakfast :)

THANK YOU for the picture of the Sticky Mickey!!!

I was hoping that it was a cinnamon roll. My favorite breakfast!!

THanks so much.

That looks great. I haven't eaten anywhere but Chef Mickey's when I stayed at the contemporary, well that and the food and fun center. I'm definately going to try it the next time we go.
