Just back from my Concierge stay at Wilderness Lodge . Ask away if you need anything answered.
BTW they do not upgrade at the front desk any more. This came from Mark the Concierge manager. I explained how they hooked me with that upgrade last year at the desk. I told him that I paid $50 to upgrade last year and that made me pay full price this year
They are getting a real lounge and it is going to be simular to the one at AKL . He said that they are looking forward to all the changes being made next year up on the 7th floor. Very nice man meet him if you get a chance!
Also Glenn from the staff got a promotion so he is gone but Jack is still there and sweet as ever!
I think he said Glenn is the manager of Conciege at CR.

I will say this.....this concierge is the MOST EXCLUSIVE concierge on property.
You are treated like ROYALTY!
Being that there are only 5 regular concierge rooms and 11 suites, you are given ATTENTION, PAMPERING, and outstanding GUEST SERVICES!

How expensive is the pres. suite roughly? Is there any way to get any sort of a discount on suites? I am assuming not.

We stayed in a 1 br AKL suite last year, but I don't believe there were any discounts. We loved it. Thanks again!

Congrats!! Yes we have 5 boys now. Michael 17, Matthew 14, Evan 4 and Connor 2 have been ours all along. We just recently "had" another boy, Travis, 16. We have been his guardians since June. He is my oldest sons best friend. But Im not expecting any more,lol.

Anyway, I was wondering if a tower room at the Contemporary would be worth it during Christmas week. I was thinking it might be too cold to really use the balcony, especially that high up with the wind. I have a reservation at the Poly right now- should I change it?

No, a tower room at CR is not automatically Concierge.

Has anyone been upgraded to concierge at check-in, even with an additional upgrade fee?

I hope someone here can give me thier opinion.

We are trying to decided between Contemp 14th floor concierge or Poly lagoon view concierge for 3 nights in Dec after our cruise.

OUr favorite concierge hotel is AKL, but DD really didn't want to stay there again. WE have stayed at the YC, AKL and Poly concierge. We thought that we should try the Contemporary this time. When I first called it was not available, but now it is. We have ressies at the Poly, but I put a hold on the Contemp. I have a few days to put down the deposit.

We will be coming off the 10 day Christmas cruise and will use this time to unwind before heading home on the 31st. We definately will take advantage of both the room and the lounge. Not planning on fighting the crowds too much at the parks.


So I am open to suggestions and opinions!!

Hi, We just returned home from a wonderful week at the 14th floor. It was wonderful. The VIEW alone is priceless. You are so high, you can see everywhere. We watched WISHES from the lounge balacony nearly every night. They play the music for it as well.

14th floor rooms are hard to get because there are so few of them. Only a total of 16 rooms & suites on the floor. It is very exclusive. If you're lucky enough to have scored a room, I keep it. You can do the Poly at another time.

this is the most EXCLUSIVE CL on property!
And I am CALLING every AM to get a room for the marathon in January!
This am, I got the 12th floor, 2 rooms.
But, I'll keep calling, calling, calling.......

I just love the fact that it was monorail to MK--10 min max. We stayed off site last year ---took 45-60 min. I loved being in he backyard of MK--seeing the park right there!! The rooms were big! I liked the colors though others say they don't . I'd go back in a minute. I would eventually like to give WL a shot, but i love the ease of CR. I didn't enjoy the 'darkness' of Poly. Good Luck!

I have a question about the "14th floor." Does it really make anyone feel any better or different that they don't call it the 13th floor? I mean, would you care if they did? It is, after all, actually the 13th floor; do any of you actually have triscadecaphobia, and if you do, are you molified by the fact that although it is the 13th floor, they don't call it that?

Just always kind of curious, and this seems to be as good a place as any to ask, since there seem to be a fair number of "14th floor" veterans here.

LOL, Kimberle! it's the Tower of Terror!

Actually, there's a "floor" between the 12th and 14th, that supports the 14th, 15th floors and has the AC, electrical and maintenance rooms.

Found this one out when we were there for the "infamous" 12th floor water main break on August 9th....thank goodness we were on the 14th floor!

Question:

When faxing a room request to CR and staying on Tower Club - 12th Floor "Limited" Concierge - do I use the main CR fax #407-824-3539 - or is there a special concierge fax # that I should use??

Also, please refresh my memory - do I fax 3 or 4 days prior to check-in? And, what time of day is best to fax your request?

I've put together a fantastic letter & am really excited to send & hope that the CM's have a fun time reading it, as much as I had fun writing it!!!! - I'll hopefully post next week after I've sent as part of my pre-trip report.
