Hello all you CR experts!

A family member of mine is going to stay in a Garden Wing room over Christmas and I wanted to send something special to the room. I really don't want to do a cake. Does anyone have any ideas? Pictures would be great. When I was at the GF this October, my TA sent a box made of chocolate filled with chocolate. Does CR do anything like this? TIA :thumbsup2

We will be there about the same time you are! Can hardly wait (at least I can't; DH is still firmly planted on the earth!)

What is it about those DHs anyway? My DDs have already told me they will not marry a man who doesn't love WDW! I'm raising them right ;)

When will you be there? We're doing a split stay between CR & FtW. DH isn't huge on WDW, but he loves camping! He said he would go every year if we camped :goodvibes

Hi, Tete....they do a chocolate monorail. VERY neat & goes w/the CR theme.

During our Thanksgiving trip I saw some beautiful Disney Xmas stockings being delivered to a room - they were from the WDW florist and much nicer in person than the pics online. I tucked that away for my own future use.;)

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

Hey thanks Channing! I forgot that you guys stay at CR, too! I am going to PM you!

We didn't see any mugs at the Sand Bar.
I wonder what the CR is going to do? The mugs are included with the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan for 2008. If there isn't anywhere at the CR to get mugs, then they are essentially not fulfilling the DXDDP? For 5 of us, that is $60. :confused3

I went down to the sand bar about 9 pm last night but they were closed! Amy what room are you in, we are 4448 down at the end 8th floor MK view. Anyone have any questions while we're here?

Would the fridge hold 2 1/2 gallons of milk?? You have a wonderful time there. We will be there on Friday.

Denise, thanks for those pictures! They look great! White Chocolate is my SIL favorite!!!

Sent you a PM!

Nik,

We are right by you! Room 4440!

I forgot to tell you what my DS said! When we finally told them (After we got off the plane) that we were taking them to Disneyworld, his response (after it sunk in) was "Are we going to stay in that hotel that the monorail drives through?".

Train em young is what I always say! ;)

Further to my post about our wonderful stay at the CR, I was going over my final bill and noticed a charge for $25.13 from the CR Business Center. We didn't use the business center for anything other than picking up an order of bottled water we had delivered from Costco, but even if they had inadvertently charged us for the cost of the water, it didn't cost anywhere near that much. So I called this morning and was shocked to learn that guests are charged 40 cents per pound for any packages the CR receives on your behalf! I asked to speak to a manager who confirmed this policy. I asked where this policy is stated and he said there is a sign in the business center! A lot of good that does you until it is too late! I complained that I didn't think it was fair to assess this fee when I was unaware, and he said he would see what he could do. He just called me back and told me he was going to make a one-time SPECIAL EXCEPTION and remove it from my bill, but I should be aware in the future that I will be charged that fee. This applies to any packages you have shipped to yourself, bottled water, or grocery orders that aren't delivered directly to you while you are there. I find this outrageous. BEWARE before you ship!

Since my family and I never ship anything to WDW we don't need to worry about this, but I think it's great you posted this info for the others who do. :thumbsup2

I planned to ship a box there today. Thanks for the heads up. Is this a new policy? I've never shipped to my resort before. I wonder if the other Disney resorts have been doing this as well. :santa:

This also happened to us when we stayed at the Beach Club several years ago. I was told that any of the resorts that do conventions charge for accepting the packages.

Has anyone ever used a grocery delivery service and it was delived when you were not around? If so, were you charged? I was hoping bell services would hold my box until I arrived.
Thanks!
Jill

Are there any CR decorations pics up anywhere?
Any from this year????
Thanks

Hi-
Just wanted to share my true excitement with prople who will appreciate it! :cool1:
I just booked the CR Tower Magic Kingdom View for myself, my twin sister and our mom for February 3-9, 2008. My sister and I will be celebrating our birthday in February and we just decided today to go to WDW! :cloud9: I haven't stayed at the CR since our very first trip in 1988. How exciting! Now I have to read up on everything Contemporary to get ready.
