Love the info on this site!!! We are staying at BLT 4/2 - 4/9. TPV 2 bedroom villa. When will I find out the exact room number.....or do I need to request that??? Thanks so much.

Can my dates be changed? I switched to the following week because it saved me about $500 and we now get a theme park view. I'll be there from 4/4-4/9...still surprising DS!!!

can i say, when i was 5 i thought the contemporary, with the monorail going through it would be the BEST place to stay. I remember thinking "when I grow up-that's where I'm going to stay!" And here we are...3 weeks out!

Hope you have a great time and enjoy the CR :wizard:.

ds14 and i just returned last night from 5 days at BLT. it was our first time there and we LOVED it! i would absolutely stay there again. my favorite will always be GF RPC but you cannot beat the value of BLT. we loved that it has a boutique-hotel atmosphere, it was SO quiet, and the walk to MK was amazing. it is definitely my new second favorite resort.

Glad you had a great time and enjoyed BLT :).

I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times before, I'm slowly working my way through this thread from the beginning. Thanks!

No need to apologize! The resort FAQs are quite long and while the first few pages are usually where you'll find answers to your questions, it can be overwhelming and an answer easily missed :goodvibes.

Hello all! We are 24 days from checking into CR in Tower Theme Park View. I was just wondering if anyone who has been there lately or is there now has an update on the monorail situation. We love the monorail but it seems to be down a lot lately. Any input is greatly appreciated! :dogdance:

I can't help on the monorail situation, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip! :wizard:.

Thank you! I'm beyond excited to be going. I haven't been to WDW since 2009, and this is my first time staying in a deluxe resort. It's also DH's (and our three year old's) first visit ever! DH went to DL quite often as a small child and was all "been there done that" about our trip. Luckily one of his friends who is a WDW fanatic convinced him it's way more than just "kiddie rides" and that he'll have a blast (because God forbid he believe me when I tell him that) :rotfl2:

I think everyone will have a great time :thumbsup2 (even your DH ::yes::).

I was on the phone with Disney today and checked rates for our trip early May and switched to a regular TPV from TPV CL. I was a little torn, even though I was excited to get what's I originally wanted, but I was kind of looking forward to the club level. Saved us almost $500 though!

Congrats on the savings. Hope you have a great trip! :goodvibes

Me too! Lots of knowledgeable posters who are always willing to help :flower3:.

Congrats on the savings and TPV room :thumbsup2.

So much information and passion for Disney here...gotta love it!

We are staying in a Studio Lake View at BLT this February, and we have the option to start the check-in process. Now I've heard a lot of you make suggestions like North Tower even number -- higher floor the better...things like that.

Under Disney's "Add Room and Amenity Requests," my only options are:

"Ground Floor," "Lower Floor," "Near Skyway Bridge," "Upper Floor," and "Near Elevator."

Of those, I may only choose two.

I'd like the opportunity to see Magic Kingdom, and I know I want as high a floor as possible. So should I skip online check-in completely? Should I try sending a fax a few days before leaving?

Any help with suggestions on room requests would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

all i can say is that all i requested was upper floor, and they gave me fourth floor. i met a woman in the elevator who also made upper floor as her only request, and they gave her ground floor. i had a similar situation at the poly in august, where they gave me the exact opposite of my only request.

I will be there 2 weeks from today!!!!!

I will let you know if the monorail has any issues!

Your trip is coming up soon - hope it's magical.

4/2 - 4/9 BLT

:welcome: to the DIS and the CR/BLT thread @Baseball Mom 12! I'll add your dates to the Log-o-Rail:)

The exact room number won't be given to you until the day of check-in. It's not a request you can make.

Yippee for the savings and upgrade.

Put us onto the log-o-rail!

1/2 - 9/2 BLT Our cousins visit the world for the first time!

I'd be happy to add you, but I'm going to put you in 2/1 - 2/9;). Your trip is coming up soon!

Welcome! OCI can be pretty confusing because the room location options are limited/preset and sometimes don't pertain to your particular booking. You can still do OCI, but you can skip the room amenity part if none of those options appeal to you. It's best to call the WDTC and have your requests added, unless you're renting points, then the owner has to do that.

In your case, I'd just skip the "room amenity" section of OCI and call to have "highest floor," "outer villa," "North side," added to for booking, in order of importance. The outer LV rooms on the north side have a partial MKV off to the left. For photos of these room views and more specific villa location info., check out the BLT Room View thread located HERE.

Congrats!!! I still wish we could have gotten TPV under discount on our last visit! The Bay Lake view was peaceful though. :)

I hope that 2016 is off to a great start for everyone:)

Love the photos and thank you for posting them. What an amazing split stay you had. Just curious, were you staying a short amount of time at each resort? Often, these kinds of upgrades occur for short stays of 1-3 nights.

Sorry it took me so long to answer, but yes, both were short stays. We were at the CR for 4 nights & YC for 3. I do think that was a big part of why we were upgraded.

I have TPV room booked for April. I requested a king size bed (it works better for us but not an end all, be all) and an odd number room. Is there anything else I should be requesting? I don't want to have a really long walk to elevators or transportation if I can help it. I'm not overly concerned with noise - DS is a good sleeper.

It happened on a whim! I realized that I had booked the day after Easter and I don't want to be there at that time. When I asked for the switch, they told me it was the last room available. Now let's hope the PM caffeine boost will allow me to enjoy the view at night!

Staying at Contemporary for the first time this August. Planning on getting to Epcot for rope drop by taking the monorail (would like to get there at 8:30am for a 9:00am open). Will the monorail be operating in time? What time should I get to the monorail station at the Contemporary? I need to transfer to the other monorail, right? TIA for your advice.

Yes! Don't miss out!!!

I agree! This thread is filled with friendly posters who are very knowledgeable about the CR and always willing to help :goodvibes.

I agree with KOOK that I'd call to have your requests added :).

You could request to be close to the elevator, although I'd list the requests in order of importance just in case not all of them can be accommodated. Keep in mind that if you are assigned a room that doesn't meet your requests, you can always ask if a different room is available. It's not guaranteed your room can be changed, but it never hurts to ask as they will do everything they can to accommodate you ;).

I don't know what time the monorail starts running, but my guess it is will be running in plenty of time for you to take it (hopefully others will be able to give a time :)). With that said, I'd allow at least an hour. The TTC is the next stop from the CR so you don't have far to go, but you never know if there will be any delays at either the CR or at the TTC.

We ended up staying in #7630 (2 bedroom villa) which is not on the room view link yet so I will be sure to update with our view once I get those off my hubby's camera this week. We booked a standard view and did not expect much but did request a high floor knowing that standard view rooms only go so high up.

We did not get a room until right before 4pm and although not having a room right away when we got off MDE was slightly annoying (realizing early room is not a guarantee of course) it was nice that I got the room text after the parade in MK and googled the floor chart and realized we had an MK view room!

When we got there we were as close to bridge that connects the tower as you could be...just one floor above it. BUT the VIEW!!!
Also I am a people watcher and I was quite happy to watch all the marathon runners in their crazy costumes and medals coming down the bridge. our view was of the Contemporary (monorails and all), you could see all of the Grand Floridian, and you could see ALL of the Magic Kingdom...Splash Mountain, the castle, the train, astro orbitor, the people mover space mountain! We could see the fireworks from our room too.

One note...you can hear the people (the loud ones at least) coming on and off the elevator. That may annoy people who are sensitive to that. We were not and we liked not having to walk far once off the elevator. Just something to keep in mind.

When making requests, does it have to be done by phone? I remember seeing people mention that they can start the check in process early. Can someone explain that to me?

Online check in via MDE allows you to click any of 6 choices (high floor, ground floor, near elevator, etc) but any other requests you will need to call in via phone or ask for when you get there at the desk. For instance I called ahead and asked for bed rails for my daughter.

Do you know how far in advance from date of arrival you can check in via MDE?
