Checked in yesterday at BLT. We drove over from a short stay at Bonnet Creek and got here at 6:30am so we could leave bags with bell services and make rope drop at MK. Bell services took forever to get here(the front desk cm at BLT too pity on us and actually starting to take our bags himself).

I had hoped to get a room number by mid afternoon so we could go and relax but we still didn’t have one by 4:30pm (that’s never happened to us). We walked back to BLT to witness a guy giving a CM a hard time about not having his room loudly while not wearing a mask (from the sounds he wouldn’t put it on even when informed he should have it on). Maybe he thought making a scene would get him what he wanted? He eventually stormed off.
I asked about our room. They spent a long time on the computer and phone, but it still wasn’t ready. We had a standard studio so I guess they don’t have many of those anyway. And they must not have many housekeepers? Not sure. Eventually we were informed housekeeping was in the room and it would probably take another 45 minutes. We did get a bit of pixie dust though and got a $100 credit applied to our account for the delay.

Wow! I had to wait til past 6:00 pm for a room and last visit I had to use an ECV which fell over on the bus with me on it and I didn’t even get and apology let alone any “pixie dust” for either!

Same! We waited until 6pm for a CR room (before covid) and just got a 'sorry!' Not even a FP. That is the latest I ever waited for a room. It's really annoying when you are paying that much money.

Stayed at a non-Disney resort a couple weeks ago. Arrived around 10am and our room was ready! I was so shocked.

I don’t know if it makes a difference but we are DVC owners (and are staying for 7 nights) and during this exchange I was asked twice if I had a car. I don’t know why having a car was important to them (yes we always rent one), but somehow I think that had an effect on things for some reason.

Can someone who has stayed in the garden wing recently tell me if there are Keurigs or regular coffee pots there at this time? Thanks!

Who asked?

Do most people grab breakfast at the Contemporary Cafe (CR) in the morning? I'm debating doing that or getting some light groceries delivered.

We usually get some light groceries for me and DW (eg, bananas, apples, yogurt) for breakfast and we'll order the kids something from Contempo Cafe. Nothing against Contempo Cafe, it's just not the kind of food I want to eat for breakfast every day as I'd rather just have a yogurt or something small.

Although since they started offering it I have really enjoyed ordering The Wave To Go for breakfast - their breakfast menu is a bit more expansive, it has been really good in my experience, etc. Note it closes for refurb 7/16 with a TBD reopening date, although Disney has said "in time for the 50th."

Sometimes we do but we also pick up some bakery items at the grocery store. On our next trip we will have a kitchen so thinking of getting some frozen breakfast sandwiches for the days we are in a hurry.

Thank you both! I'm tempted to have a few things delivered. Any suggestions on who to use and will they deliver while we're at the park?

With the park hours starting so soon after the breakfast hours, I pack protein bars or Luna bars in my bags. No sense paying for delivery when stuff is packable and portable.

I have only used Garden Grocer, and have enjoyed their service. The website is easy to use, they can drop your stuff off at bell services, etc. Most will say GG is on the higher end of prices (which it is).

I’m sure others can give feedback on other names you frequently see, like Instacart, Amazon Fresh, etc.

We used Instacart when we were there in May. We had it delivered to bell services. We actually ordered stuff while we were in the park at 10:00 am and picked it up about 1:30 when we went back for naps/pool time.

We like to order a few things from Garden Grocer. Usually cereal, bagels, milk, cream cheese, butter and a case of bottled water. Then some people can eat while others are getting ready.

I'm an Instacart loyalist since I have an Express membership and use it extensively at home. Typically I put a Publix cart together before I leave home and schedule delivery for roughly 1-1.5 hours after I'm supposed to land, because I like to time it so we get there around the same time. A shopper usually starts working on the order while I'm still on the plane.

I'll say that with Instacart it's very important to pay attention to the app once the shopper starts shopping your order. It's not as bad as it was during the height of Covid with things being out of stock, but when items are unavailable your shopper will contact you for instructions. It will only ask you about a couple of substitutes but there's a link you can click to list all of your items out and select substitutes from there. Stuff I don't really care about I'll just tell them to refund. I find that most people's complaints about Instacart are because they didn't realize they could request specific items as substitutes or leave instructions.

Regardless of which service you use, Bell Services will hold your items and they have fridges available for your perishables. There is a charge if you want them to bring the items up to your room.

Today is my last day at Bay Lake Tower. I have 3 cans of Peroni, an avocado and a box of gluten free pasta if anyone is interested.
