One slight correction it is July 16th that The Wave is closed for a long refurbishment, and is expected to reopen by Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary on October 1 2021.

No the BLT opened back up last June with the rest of the DVC buildings. You only see pricing when Disney has a Cash offer on a DVC room. With all the backlog of DVC members with points that they need to use it is going to be very busy the rest of the year.

That is unless you happen to find points to rent. Also keep checking as guest plans change all the time and some guests have booked multiple resorts for the same period until they make a final decision. "You Know Who You Are"...

I have DVC rooms booked for Christmas/New Years but couldn't get the whole week at BLT so I split the week and paid cash for the Dolphin for New Year's Eve. I'm planning HS and Epcot for the Dolphin days, and MK and AK for the BLT days.

Has anyone recently used Magical Express? Which resorts does it go to after leaving the airport? My dh is concerned we will have to travel to several resorts before getting to the Contemporary and it may be worth using Uber instead.

Definitely no fixed route. Two weeks ago en route to the Contemporary, I was the 4th of 5 stops. OKW -- SSR -- WL -- CR -- GF. I pulled into CR 2 full hours after landing at MCO.

Ouch! That's too bad. How did the ride back to the airport go? I've heard they pick up too early so we might Uber.

I have a handful of questions (so far ).
1. Is Contempo Cafe only available for mobile order? If so, are there tables to sit down and eat or do you have to find other seating/bring it back to your room?
2. Are the refillable drink stations open for self-serve refills? Is there anywhere in the garden wing to refill or will we have to head to the contempo cafe to get refills?
3. How has bus service been lately to the parks? Is it still complete luck of the draw? I'm debating how much driving vs. bussing we'll do to the non-MK parks.
4. For food delivery orders (DoorDash, Instacart, etc.) does the delivery driver have to meet you at the main lobby or can they meet you in the garden wing?

Monday we were BLT then CR, WL, then Poly. 3:20 PU, dropped airport 4:30-40? Our flight was 6:30.
Had time for dropping bags, chick fil A , security and still at gate 30 mins before boarding.

Cake. I went to cake chatter thread and got phone number for The contemporary, I left a message and my call was returned the next day. I has an idea of what I wanted and we talked it through . I did 6” chocolate with peanut putter mousse on top with 8” vanilla with vanilla and buttercream frosting,

You can deliver to a restaurant or pick up at the Wave, At pickup you can buy bottles of alcohol (needed champagne) at the Wave,

The cake was boxed very well. It was a bit of a struggle carrying it to BLT but I just set the box down for elevator etc. it was packed secure enough to do so.

I give it a 10/10 for what I was hoping for. Tasted good too.

Great pictures of a very special celebration for your family at a place to remember for a lifetime. May I ask where did you get the various flat signs: "it's official", "our little girl is getting married", etc...?

We have something similar coming up in July.

I got them on ETSY. It was actually just the black with red bow and kissey accents. I emailed and asked if can to the engagement style but "disney it up". She sent back what I ordered because it came out perfect!. I sent basic info and said use whatever you think works. I said parents would be there, the kids names, and at wdw for proposal.

We are lucky enough to be staying in a TPV studio for the 50th Anniversary - never stayed at BLT before, we are over the moon excited!

As for room requests, I know higher floors provide the best views - but are the rooms facing the MK instead of the Contemporary called north facing, or north wing? Just want to make sure to have our room request in line
