anyone noticed in any of the gift shops lately if they sell pool noodles? an earlier post mentioned using them for my 2yr old since the pull out couch in the villas may not handle the bed rails too well. since we are flying we don't have an option to bring them with us

Thanks for the information! Disboards are great. I am sure I will have more questions...before February.

Hi all! Just booked a long weekend trip for CR CL, Atrium Club, TPV, 9/9-9/12. It's been a couple of years since we've been to CR so I'm very much looking forward to going back. Primarily heading down for the Halloween Party so figured the quick walk from CR will be perfect.

Thanks to everyone who posts on this thread, the information on here is much appreciated!

I would so appreciate if you could post some photos of the club lounge, if possible. Have fun!

In the middle of a great stay at the Contemporary! Little bit of a rough night last night with some loud construction work being done at Chef Mickey at (inexplicably) 4am! Manager couldn't halt the work, but responded as positively as was within his power, so we are still quite happy with our beloved Contemporary, as we know this is the kind of thing that can happen anywhere. We are staying in the stack of rooms directly above CM, do this may have been isolated to us. Here now, on the Atrium Club Level, if anyone has questions!

4am? wow! how'd the manager help with the situation? I hadn't realized that there was work being done at CM ... do you know how it's changing also, if you have pics of any of the resort, i would love to see more pics of the place :-)

Hey there! No real construction ... They replaced the vinyl on all the red benches in the restaurant and I think it ended up being noisier then anyone anticipated, because hey had to use an air-powered nail gun. But, because they had deconstructed the benches they understandably could not just stop the work. I wonder if it is something they used to do when the restaurant was closed during the day in the past. Will happily post some pix of the resort later! Concierges have been particularly awesome this trip!!

Any pictures of the food in the lounge would be greatly appreciated. We will be there in October. Thanks!

Is there a way to request an odd-numbered room in the tower on-line or do I need to call and make the request? We have a TPV room and requested upper floor and king bed but I didn't see anywhere that I could request an odd-numbered room.

Apologies for the posting delay. Had to get my DD off to college and now I'm in impending vacation panic mode. I'll be arriving one week from today at CR's Tower Club and I'm very excited.

It's been a few years since we've stayed at the CR (we're DVC members so we stay at BLT ), but previously we have stayed on the 14th floor a few times! One time we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite!! It was AMAZING!! Sending you pixie dust that you get an upgrade as well!

Things we observed (again going back a few years).... LOVED the bigger balconies, and LOVED the deep fill sinks (unlike the flat sinks)! If memory serves me correctly there are only 2 King bedrooms on the 14th floor?? One being HA...(just so you're aware). Also, keep in mind that you can't look down onto the Concourse like you can from all the other floors because it's enclosed.

As far as we're concerned there are NO BAD ROOMS/VIEWS at the CR (unlike at the BLT - where you may be looking at a loading dock, or looking across the way into someone else's room). We only stay in a TPV room at the BLT......and as long as we don't get the 4th floor (which HAS happened) we are happy!

Can't wait to hear your review!! Best wishes!!

You've got me even more excited, @MrsBlovesDisney. Tower Club has always been on my Disney bucket list and I can't believe one week from today I'll actually be checking-in! I'll be posting a LIVE TR and I'll post the link here. I think that will be much easier than trying to post to my 3 resort threads.

I know that a while back there was a pool noodle thread (people being told not allowed). We just spent an hour in the Contemporary pool with our noodles. We did ask the lifeguard before we entered the pool, as we didn't want to break any rules. We were told 'absolutely you can use them'. Just wanted to let you know that was our experience today.

And, we timed our walk from the garden wing rooms to the front of the Magic Kingdom - 14 minutes. Leisurely walk. Awesome!!!

They are working on the walkway from garden wing into the main building during the day, but it's open in the evening and early morning.
Took bus to Disney Springs - it took a long time (shared with Typhoon Lagoon and Wilderness Lodge) and not quite as cold as usual on the bus (I love it cold). I think we've been spoiled taking the boat from Port Orleans to Disney Springs. I can't believe the changes in Disney Springs over the last year!
Still enjoying it here. Beds are so comfortable and it's so quiet in the garden wing - can't hear anything and the monorail is going by our patio door!

Thank you for posting your CR updates, @OurLaughingPlace.

Does anyone know the current (August 2016) movie rotation?

I know @BlueFairy posted the link for you (thank you!), but just adding that I do have the hyperlink to the Resort Activity Calendars at the top of POST 2.

First time staying in the Graden Wing, checking in 9/7 for 9 glorious nights, and can't wait!

We put in a room request for a top floor quiet room (booked Garden Wing, garden view). Is any garden room view better than the others?

I'll add your dates to the Log-o-Rail in POST 2. Just adding to a previous reply that our favorite GW/GV rooms are the ones that directly face Bay Lake. Very quiet location with amazing views.

We are booked for the CR for the first time in Feb. This is the only deluxe resort we have not stayed and it has not appealed to us. We have 2 rooms, 8 people ranging from grandparents (us) to a baby (3 months old at the time of the trip), the other kids will be 6,5,2. We have standard view, garden wing booked. I am happy to be within walking distance of the MK, but I need to get
more excited for this trip. We usually stay at BWI. Please advise me what rooms to ask for, we like balconies but I really don't like ground floor rooms. We will eat at CM for DGS 7th birthday ( a tradition started 4 years ago).

Congratulations on booking. I think you and your family will love CR. The Bay Lake views are amazing as well as the monorail passing right through the resort. You're also just a boat ride away to FW and WL. The rooms are large and comfortable and there are great dining options with other dining options just a monorail ride away.

The convenience of CR for a MK focused trip (I'm assuming based on the kids ages) is awesome! The CR garden wing rooms are very nice. They are large rooms but the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms do not have balconies. If you want outdoor space you will need to request 1st floor where you will have a patio shared with the room next door. If you will have early evening where you will be in your room at fireworks time you may want to request to be at the very end of the building near the canal. We stayed there in May and had a partial fireworks view from our room (they play the wishes music on a channel on the tv) on nights we went back to the room early with our 4 y/o. Our 4 y/o also LOVED watching the monorail and boats go by the window everyday. We were able to get connecting rooms (traveled with my in laws) which was really helpful too-I'd definitely make that a request. This was a picture I took one night of the fireworks-pretty good "standard view"View attachment 189314

Wishes is always photogenic!

When we last stayed at GF in August, they had the noodles right by the pool. It's highly likely BLT has them as well, but it seems you only need them in your room? Maybe they'd let you borrow a couple?

I don't think I've ever seen a pool noodle for sale at any Deluxe resort. But, if you have a military ID card, SOG might have them. Just take the monorail to Poly and walk across the street. You can call them first to verify. Perhaps they sell them at MCO?

Congratulations and I'll add your dates, @GADisneyDad14. You arrive one day after I head over to BC from the 14th floor.

Ok, I can't figure out how to download my previous "live" videos from Facebook, but here is a video I took of suite 4901:

That is one sweet suite - thank you for posting your video. It makes me even more excited to be checking in one week from today. BTW, I am really impressed by how much your DS loves bananas - no potassium deficiency for that kid.

Here are a few pictures of dinner service tonight. Tonight was black bean soup (yum!) tiny, spicy shrimp, mini corn dogs, stuffed mushrooms along with the standard cheeses, crudite, peanut butter and jelly... Etc ...

Thank you so much for posting your Atrium Club lounge photos, @AlixaLock. Can't wait to check-in and head on up to the Tower Club!

:welcome: to the DIS and the CR/BLT thread, @tandjr.

In your MDX account's Online Check-In there is a drop-down menu. Within that there is an "odd-numbered room" option as well as a "King Bed" option.

You're welcome. I think something will work out so try not to get too concerned about it. There are many pillows and blankets and sofa cushions that would probably work well if the rail doesn't.

AlixaLock,
Thanks for the pics. Question on the food offerings at the Atrium club. How many hot items have been offered nightly? We stayed at the Poly TPV club last year and we were offered 2 and just came back from RPC last week and it was 3 hot items per day. It was enough variety to make a meal out of it at RPC but not at the Poly. Considering a stay at the Atrium Club next year and am curious on the variety.
Any info would be great.
Thank you

Officially switched from BWI to the tower, it's been too long, couldn't stay away any longer!

Sounds like a great move what with the on-going maintenance at BWI/BWV. And, BLT will have completed a soft goods rehab by the time you're there so it's a win-win swticheroo:)

My 19 year old and I were at BWI Innkeepers Club over July 4th and while we didn't have construction problems I could definitely see it happening this time (luck of the draw). Unfortunately not BLT, nothing available, I feel lucky to get a tower room in the main building, even if it is a lake view. Skipping the party this year, no passholder discounts and I can't see over $100 per person.

I saw passholder discounted dates when I checked online. ... is your mde setup to recognize your discount?

yes, although I use the website for most of that type stuff. There is just very limited availability period. gonna be a very busy October, which makes me sad. October used to be our "happy time" to go when the girls were little cooler weather and low crowds
