Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I have a new avatar.

I’m celebrating with my dd this weekend at CSR and MNSSHP. Since she can’t drink ? Decided to skip CL for a bit.

Crazy girl is doing a Disney trip every month for 2024 knowing 2025 will be scarse.

Baby Girl is due on my wedding anniversary 4/23! Yep we just found out! Now I can finally shop!

Tonight I’ll MYOCL at CSR , she arrives tomorrow after TS concert in Miami tonight,
Congratulations!!❤

Big congratulations to all, what special times are coming! The baby is going to be a Disney expert in no time!

We moved to GF RPC Sunday. The lounge is a bit busier so hard to get pictures. These are from breakfast yesterday

I'm very lax in coming back with a trip report, but I guess that at least I don't have to post food pics from the RPC lounge. I think you were there when my friend and I were! 😂 Just looking at these pics makes me want to go back.

Lol, yes we will add that very important step!

Step 1. Flatten the pod rim!

Hope you are having a great stay!

LOL! Yes!! I am a coffee (cappuccino) addict, and I requested a full tutorial on the Nespresso machine the first day. I became a master training other padawans as the week went on. 😜

Me too! Especially because we both tested + for Covid the day after we checked in so we left 2 days early. Hope you enjoyed your stay, sorry we didn’t meet up.

Here's a trip report for anyone interested!

My friend and I loved everything about the RPC. I didn't find anything to be lacking and between CL and the dining plan, we were stuffed every day (and had some meals and snacks leftover - tragedy!). We really enjoyed our stay. As a reminder, my best friend from college and I stayed there for 6 days in September to celebrate being "empty nesters." It was hot and humid, the lightning lane thing was confusing, there were lots of kids under 5 everywhere, it rained a lot, and the days were looonnng. By the time 3pm rolled around each day, I was tired and cranky and silently thinking, "I hate Disney." But then I would walk through the doors of the GF and head up to the RPC, where the staff was friendly and welcoming and everything was so pleasant, and then I would think, "I love Disney." 🤣

Some of our highlights:
  • I feel like we won the jackpot with our room. We were on the 4th floor in room 4401 (I think...I'm 99% sure that was the number). It was at the end of the hall and did not have an adjoining room, and we had a fabulous view of the castle and fireworks at night.😍 Our maid was very nice and always greeted us pleasantly in the hall, and tried to give us extra slippers to take home.😁

  • Drinking [almost] around Epcot was a blast, even in the rain. (It was "almost" because I didn't bother drinking beverages I knew I wouldn't enjoy, like beer.). I bought hockey-themed shirts in Canada, which for a hockey mom like me was great fun!
IMG_6347.jpg
  • Dinner at Steakhouse 71 was great, but we learned you must make a reservation if you want a table. We got there late and had to sit at the bar, but it was fine and we enjoyed some MNF while eating a delicious meal. And the biggest piece of chocolate cake I've seen in a long time! (It took me 3 days to finish it!)
IMG_6439.jpg
  • We did a side jaunt to Universal which was okay. Amy is very into Harry Potter but I am not, so it was more for her than me. Although I did see my hero, Dr. Brown!!
IMG_6460.jpg
  • I am a runner and I love to go on runs while on vacation because it helps me "see" the sights up close. It was hot and humid (I'm from Michigan, I am going to complain about the Florida weather non-stop 🤪), but it was still lovely to watch the sun rise over Disney. One challenge was that the path from GF to the Poly was closed due to construction at the Poly. I didn't let that stop me, though. 😉The new building they're putting up looks like it's going to be great!

  • Amy insisted on going to see the fireworks up close and personal one night. And it rained. 😝 I did not like that. The show was definitely amazing, but I feel like it did not have any Belle/B&B music or scenes. What was up with that?

Ooops, not allowed to add anymore pictures, so part II coming up...

@trishadono Oh my goodness!!!! This is so exciting! As soon as I read that your dd could not drink I thought, please let it be what I think it is! Congratulations!!!

@Circusgirl hello! Long time no see! I want to thank you again, 10+ years later, you helped me so much many moons ago when one of my doggies was having health problems! I have never forgotten your generosity.

  • We figured out the lightning lane thing by day 3 and used it to get passes to Tiana's ride. It was closed at first, but after they opened it about 10am, our number got called within about 30 minutes. I enjoyed the ride, but I enjoyed all the staging leading up to the ride even more!
IMG_6616.jpg
  • On our last full day, after hitting MK early, I left Amy back at the room made good use of my "park hopper" tickets by hitting two more parks. I really wanted to do a fourth park just to say I did it, but it was hot and I was tired!
IMG_6635.jpgIMG_6640.jpg
  • I have a friend from middle school who moved to Florida in 1990 and has been a cast member for 34 years. We had dinner at Belle's Castle on our last night, where she regaled us with inside stories of Disney life...we laughed non-stop! Plus, dinner was delicious!!
IMG_6674.jpg
  • The morning of our last day, we watched a wedding from our balcony. It was fun and we congratulated the bride as she walked by afterward. (After an hour in the hot sun, she told us she was ready to switch places with us. 😅)
(No picture because my phone couldn't get close enough to see anything.)
  • I splurged and bought a Vera Bradley Belle bag, and it is my new favorite thing! It fits my computer perfectly.

  • Amy and I decided we will never go back to Disney without staying club level and we probably never veer away from the Royal Palm Club, because we loved it that much. We felt truly pampered and welcomed. I wish I could remember the names of the staff members we interacted with but I'm terrible with names. They were all fantastic though--so attentive and friendly. During "afternoon cool off breaks," I spent a lot of time sitting in the RPC lounge working on pictures (I'm a photographer) while drinking sparkling wine and listening to the sounds of the piano wafting up from above. It was Heaven. 🥰

IMG_6291.jpgIMG_6292.jpg

My favorite of all the food offerings was the bread pudding, but I thought it was all great. I LOVED the sparking wine they had, and wished I had thought to take a photo of the bottle to try to get it now that I'm back home. Amy has been trying to find it for 5 weeks. 🤣 If anyone stays at RPC in the near future, if you could find out what that brand of sparkling wine is, it would make her year!

Thanks for all the help and advice leading up to our trip--it was really appreciated!

Oops, I missed that! I hope you're feeling much better now. What a total bummer to leave paradise early!!

Thanks & yes we’re recovered. Glad to hear you had a great stay. How was the cake from Steakhouse 71? We eat lunch there every trip, but haven’t tried the cake. It looks delicious tho. And I’m glad to hear your meal at BOG was good. We haven’t eaten there in 2 or 3 years but liked it then. It has gotten some bad reviews lately, so nice to read a positive comment.

@Steph H from one redhead to another, I thoroughly enjoyed your trip report! I feel the same as you, I just love RPC so much, it’s a huge part of why I love going to Disney. For me it brings the whole trip into balance.

Beth, it was a pleasure to help you, and so sweet to hear how meaningful it was.

I haven't been on the boards in years, got out of the habit during the pandemic when I wasn't traveling. I'm back to regular Disney trips again. I had a wonderful trip in September and am going back in November and January. It is fun to reconnect and so glad familiar DIS friends are here.

Any recommendations for AKL club level room number? Staying next October . We would like to be close to elevator

I wouldn't mention a room number. If that room's not available the room assignor won't know why you requested that room. We've always had good luck stating what we're looking for. For example, close to elevator, quiet location, corner room, etc.

Just so you know, there's 3 banks of elevators so don't put close to elevator on a room request. If you want close to the main bank of elevators then put close to lobby. As far as room location, it's tough. The closer to the lobby, you are further from the animals, so it's a toss up. Kudu trail, 4241 to 4227 have good views but are not terribly far from the lobby. Zebra trail 4423 to 4437 are closer to the main bank of elevators and offer pretty good views too.

Gosh dd says HI! We had fun with you at WL cl and Epcot. Hard to believe how long it’s been!

Love your detailed report!! I’ll be there in 3 weeks, one night BWI non-CL and 3 nights RPC, so happy to get a pic for you then :)!
