Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Years ago they greeted you by name when you arrived, escorted you to the lounge, offered you a drink and checked you in. Now its hit or miss if there is someone with an ipad to check you in and take you to the lounge. In resorts with a dedicated CL floor your MB will probably not work on the elevator until you open your room door with it. In that case if you can't find someone with an ipad you will have to go to the front desk so they can reset your MB, then someone usually escorts you to the lounge. Unless its early morning there is usually someone with an ipad either outside or in the lobby.

BWI rarely has anyone with an ipad. That was very rude and should not have happened. We just go up to the 4th floor and check in at the CL desk even if we don't have a room number yet, but if its you first time you may not know where the CL desk is. We have always had to check in at the front desk at the CR, but were then escorted to the CL floor.

When I stayed in RPC while CL was still closed, a CM with an iPad greeted me in the lobby and actually walked me all the way to the second elevator to make sure I knew how to get to the deluxe king rooms. Was very grateful for it considering I didn't know about having to tap to use the elevator, much less the convoluted route to my room.

But even as a regular non-CL guest at YC a CM with an iPad greeted me as I came in. I think it really depends on the resort. Some seem to be more proactive about it than others, and that feels like a management issue to me. Will be interested to see how it goes at Poly CL this time.

Over the last 5 years at the YC CL I saw Tom the CM dressed as the Captain and he would bring us up to CL. It has been a nice treat. Then the CM at the CL lounge manager would make sure our magic bands were working, then they would bring us a welcome drink beer, wine or sparkling raspberry wine in the lounge.

When I stayed RPC CL in Nov 2023, I was greeted in the lobby, escorted to RPC, given a sparking drink, and asked if I wanted a tour. Granted, since my daughter is a CM at RPC, they knew I was on my way. However, from what I understand, this greeting should happen. For my current Aug 2024 stay (Resort View), I was greeted by a concierge CM with iPad in the lobby by the front desk. There were 2 of them hanging around in front of the check-in desk. I'd done online check-in, but since the concierge staff offered to assist, I let her check my old Grand Floridian magic band just to make sure it still worked. She confirmed it was active, and I went on to my room.

I haven’t been greeted when checking in to CL in several trips - GDT (2x), WL, AKL, BWI (2-3x), YC, BC (4x). I think the last time I was greeted was at CR and that was before Covid. I had to wait in a long line at AKL in May - I had DS try to use his MB to get to CL while I waited in line, but it didn’t work. I was able to approach a CM with an IPad at YC and BC. Lines, thankfully, weren’t a big deal on the other visits.

We had a bounceback room only res booked for the Poly next March--Water View. Although, it's my favorite resort, I am not a big fan of "the chaos" otherwise known as the Hawaii longhouse. After somewhat "aggressively" trying to convince the other 2 people in my party to change resorts for the last 3 months, today, they finally caved. They did have one stipulation though--we couldn't leave the monorail. So, after an unnecessarily long 25 minute phone call earlier this evening with a very pleasant CM (he didn't even push travel insurance or booking a package vs. room only too hard), I'm very happy to report that we will now be staying in a Water View 1 bedroom suite at the Contemporary mid March--what makes it even sweeter is that we didn't even have to change our original travel dates.

Poly is hit or miss also. If no one to greet or the CL check in desk area is unmanned you can just walk to the Hawaii longhouse and check in there. Your MB probably won't work on the door but the CM's will see you and open the door. We have never had our MB work on the door or elevators before having them reset.

My deepest consonances on the loss of your mother. Hope you have a wonderful trip and pleasant memories of her.

We check into YC CL Tuesday. I got a prearrival call from a CM there yesterday, asking about food allergies, what time we’ll arrive, if there’s anything we need now etc. He also specifically said our MBs won’t work for the elevator until they’re set. That we should let a front desk or lobby CM know we’re checking in CL so they can escort us up.

Does booking CL at Beach Club guarantee a room with a full balcony?
You have approximately a 75% chance of getting a full balcony at the Beach Club. We have had a club level room with a standing balcony. It was at the end of a section and had windows on two sides. There are a few of the rooms with standing balconies at the BC CL.

It is the Yacht Club club level that only has two rooms with standing balconies, not BC. :)

Thanks, both for the advice and the kind sentiments. In hindsight I’m really glad we decided to splurge for a night of CL at the end of the trip despite the lack of a discount. We are looking forward to having an extra special treat like this.

We check into RPC 10 days from today. :goodvibes Very excited to see the new rooms & lounge decor. Also, retirement is wonderful, I highly recommend. ;)
A bit jealous ;-) but looking forward to your report!

Also, does anyone know about the Deluxe rooms at RPC that have 2 Queens? Where are they located, what view they have, do they all have a single-bed couch? I found one recent walk-through video on YouTube, but the pics and info on the Disney site is old.

Hmmmm. The older I get the more time I spend at the resort, especially mornings and evenings. I’ve stayed at 16 resorts, Beach Club is the last on my list. Trying to decide if I want to gamble not getting a full balcony.

Does anyone know if any of the WL CL Resort View rooms have walk in showers besides the king rooms? I was able to book a BB for May 31 - June 7, 2025. I was hoping for a CL King room, but they weren't available. So I took the CL Resort view. Just trying to figure out if any of these have a walk in shower. I always catch a toe on that metal rail on the tub with the glass sliders.

We checked in to All Star Sports last night & in to AoA today. DH has never stayed value and it’s been many years since I have. I’m pleasantly surprised with AoA.

We check into Poly CL tomorrow & received a call today! We were eating at Le Cellier so we didn’t have a signal. They left a voicemail with instructions on leaving our bags with Bell Services & bypassing the front desk & heading over to Hawaii. We are sooo excited!

Wow they sure cut it close with your CL call but glad you got one as a pre-arrival with some personal information on accessing the Hawaii Bldg.

My DH and I are having a debate, did we have a walk in shower or tub? (We were just there 3 weeks ago) He says tub, I feel like it was a walk in. He's probably right though. I know I watched some YouTube videos about WL CL and I'm 99% sure I saw a walk in shower so it might be worth it to scan those. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

You could ask for a room with walk in shower. Do you care if on the 7th floor same as lounge? If you were ok with a different floor they may be able to accommodate you. The balconies are better on the lower floors too so that would be 2 nice things.

No kidding, this has me slightly worried for our visit given we will be on the Wish before we check in! Hopefully they call before the cruise when we are at the GF. Two weeks out and still nothing yet. My main concern is the allergy stuff.

Why not just call DSS at 407-939-7777 seven days a week from 9 to 5 ET. And ask them to contact the Poly CL concerning Allergy information for your party?

They should be able to have someone from the Poly CL call you directly to discuss your concerns. In the past a Chef has actually returned our call.

Ahh I didn't know you could ask for a call back from the individual CLs, I think I had it in my head that you had to just go through DSS. Thanks for the number! I'll give them a call tomorrow when I wfh.

Checking in from YC. We were at POFQ the night before & went to MK. Got room ready text about 2:30, as we were heading to hotel. Got the room location I wanted. Went to front desk on arrival, said we were club level, the CM called up to them & CM came down to get us. First surprise, the slippers now have the YC logo! Pictures of evening apps.
