Oooohhhhh! Mine expires 11/07. I just tried to book a theme park reservation. It only showed parks through 11/07 AND it let me book it for 11/07.

Haha, yeah, I wasn't too sure what to think of those stories. I couldn't imagine some CM is just standing in the lobby all day trying to find incoming CL guests but who knows![]()

I always thought the same as you. The chat cm was adamant that the ap was not good for the “expiration date or any date beyond until I renewed it.”I thought that meant good ON 10/30. It has a been a while but I think I would have remembered if a pass didn’t work for us. We have had APs on and off for 30 years.
Anybody else with recent info?
Can any CL vets give me a quick overview of what to expect or do on check in day? My first CL stay is coming up at GDT in about 40 days and am not sure what to expect.
I'm DVC and typically just check in on the app and go to my room as soon as I get on property (usually get in late that first day). This time, I'll already be in Orlando so I'm expecting to get to Coronado Springs at around 8am. Do I just check in on the app, leave my bags at Bell Services, and try and find the lounge myself? Or will there be someone to help? Best to just check in at the desk?
Years ago they greeted you by name when you arrived, escorted you to the lounge, offered you a drink and checked you in. Now its hit or miss if there is someone with an ipad to check you in and take you to the lounge. In resorts with a dedicated CL floor your MB will probably not work on the elevator until you open your room door with it. In that case if you can't find someone with an ipad you will have to go to the front desk so they can reset your MB, then someone usually escorts you to the lounge. Unless its early morning there is usually someone with an ipad either outside or in the lobby.Haha, yeah, I wasn't too sure what to think of those stories. Thank you! Exactly what I needed.
BWI rarely has anyone with an ipad. That was very rude and should not have happened. We just go up to the 4th floor and check in at the CL desk even if we don't have a room number yet, but if its you first time you may not know where the CL desk is. We have always had to check in at the front desk at the CR, but were then escorted to the CL floor. They actually used to do that & greet you outside. The guard at the gate would check the arriving guests name & radio them you were arriving. If you were on magic express, they got notified what bus you were on & would meet the bus. Then they’d take you up to CL. At YC, we’ve approached a CM with an iPad & been taken upstairs. At GF & CR, we were checked in at the regular desk. We knew our way up, so declined the escort once our magic bands were set. BWI last summer, we went to the regular check in desk & since we had our room number, told to just go up. We asked about an escort to CL & were told how to get there. I asked again & was told to just go up on our own. Very rude & I was pretty unhappy with the CM in the lobby.
Thanks. That sounds encouraging. It gives you approx 99% chance yes , I believe there are only 2 rooms with Juliet balcony
Main Building. Sugarloaf CL never came back after COVID.Countdown clock says 10 days + some hours until our trip to Grand Floridian!!
So I have a dumb question, because it's been sooooo long since I stayed there. My co-traveller asked me yesterday if we are staying in the main building. I started to say yes, because I thought that all club level at GF is now in the main building (we were in Sugar Loaf in 2012), but the reality is that I'm not sure. Our reservation lists us as "Theme Park View - Club Level." Does anyone know is this for sure puts us in the main building or if Sugar Loaf (or another outer building) is still a possibility? I'm hoping we're in the main building. Sugar Loaf was lovely, but it was a hike at the end of a long day.
Thanks for any insight!
Those are good changes! Except the smoking one. With 2 outdoor areas they could have kept one. My mom loved sitting out there and in her 80’s she not quitting now.Just back from a stay at the Grand Floridian. Popped up to the RPC for a minute to say hello to some folks, and noticed a couple of changes since my last stay in Nov of last year. Prefacing this to say I haven't been following this board all that closely, so this may not be new news, but sharing just in case:
1. Self Service Bar
2. POG Juice!
3. House made chips
4. No more smoking areas for RPC. There used to be 2. One on a balcony facing the monorail, one on a balcony facing the park. Gone. As is the smoking area that used to be at the main building balcony on the 2nd floor near Enchanted Rose and facing the Beaches pool. Closest smoking areas for RPC/main building guests are now outside - one to the right of the rear entrance facing the courtyard pool, one near the marina by Gaspy's (RPC guests could use the secret elevator), and of course one out front of the lobby.
They could definitely have kept one - perhaps on the less popular balcony that faced the monorail? Your mom is not alone, and there are plenty of men who enjoy a fine cigar. Seems a bit much to make the RPC folks trek all the way downstairs and outside. Those are good changes! Except the smoking one. With 2 outdoor areas they could have kept one. My mom loved sitting out there and in her 80’s she not quitting now.
I totally dislike smoke smells. I have asked for my room moved because of it. However the balcony facing the monorail did not have any rooms affected. The closest room was a deluxe king without a balcony ( I’ve been in one).As a nonsmoker staying at RPC, I’m glad they moved the smoking areas. The smell & irritants drift more than smokers realize. Every on site guest has to leave their building & go to a designated smoking area. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for RPC guests to do the same.
LOL, I meant to quote this in my reply above. I just cannot get back into the swing of message boards.Main Building. Sugarloaf CL never came back after COVID.

We check into RPC 10 days from today.Very excited to see the new rooms & lounge decor. Also, retirement is wonderful, I highly recommend.

LOL, don't rub it in. I still have years to go...
I might have missed your dates from a previous post...it looks like we'll be there at the same time! Look for me in the lounge...if you see an extroverted redhead who can't stop talking to random strangers, you've found me.![]()
