Late reply to your question, I’m sorry!
You have a big crew! I’m assuming you’re in a WL Deluxe Room - would love to hear your thoughts about it/how well all of you fit when you get back.
In my experience, there are always plenty of families/kids in the lounges, no matter the resort (with the exception . WL is nice in that there are separate areas/little spots to spread out. The “kids tables” are sort of in one area (with a TV to keep them occupied as you prepare plates) and the adults can sit back/keep an eye on them at other tables. Or folks looking to get away from kids all together can go find tables along the lobby railing. It’s a pretty good all around spot in this regard.
I generally see an occasional family or two that’s a little on the loud/rambunctious/‘I wouldn’t let my kids act like that’ side - but at Disney I try to have some grace/mind my own business… everyone who has travelled with little ones knows the occasional stresses of over-tired/over-stimulated kiddos. And we could have very well been ‘that family’ a time or two and didn’t realize it, no matter how much I try to stay on their behavior.
As for CL with little ones… this is going to sound snooty, but for us a huge part of the CL benefit is not having to “think” about breakfast, a glass of water, an occasional beer or wine - simple stuff. With no CL and a crew of kids, you’re left with quick service or the resort store. Simple things like a cup of coffee in the AM can become a chore as some resorts are more spread out than others. With CL, DW and I can much more effectively “manage” things - getting ready, getting a workout in, feeding the kids, mid-day naps/rest time, etc. Small conveniences here and there add up to value, in my opinion.
Probably more than you wanted, sorry I got long winded.
